Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso advice, please!

I've been offered a gold Reverso Duoface. It's had a hard life, but is keeping good time. On the case there are two numbers. One , I assume, is the model number and the other for the case or the watch itself;

270.1.54
1769xxx

Would you please advise me where to find the information, if any, that these numbers provide?

I referred to this in another thread recently. I thought the second number on the case (seven digits, no stops) was the serial number of the individual watch. Is that what you mean by “case number”? But what is the other number? It is clearly not the refe...

I will submit that to the JLC Team when they come back from holidays. But in the meantime, here is a document I don't remember who to credit for...

Th first number: The model, then the case material ( 8=Steel ) then the bracelet or strap material ( 4 ), then the dial color or a random number. Hope this helps a bit... ...
