To me this means bargains to be had in other areas!

I recently sold a fairly nice but not particularly noteworthy 1675 radial dial GMT with no accessories for nearly 5x what I paid for it 6-7 years ago, and with the proceeds bought an ALS 1815 up/down, and still had money left over for a blow out dinner at Nobu to celebrate!
Maybe it’s a bubble, maybe it’s not, but to me this is a great opportunity to buy value while the rest of the world chases steel sports stuff so they can look just like the next guy. Of course I’ve had a few thoughts of ‘if only I hadn’t sold my FPJ CB, AP ROC, Daytona, Seadweller, several GMTs’ and a few others that I’ve owned over the years and sold before the current market insanity (and I recently tallied up what my collection would be worth now if I’d kept every watch I’ve bought over the last 10 years, and it would literally be ‘downpayment on a nice house’ kind of money), but it’s impossible to foresee where the market will go. For me, I’m seeing this as a great opportunity to get into the kind of watches that I wouldn’t otherwise be able to. E.g I have a beautiful vintage sub, which I really love, but it’s at the point where i could quite easily move it on and get another ALS, or a nice Calatrava, which just seems crazy to me.

But we can always have a lot of fun, can't we?! I am seriously considering selling my unworn (apart from some silly indoor night show) BB 58, buying another one and take a well-deserved vacation! ...
If it’s any consolation I’ve seen two in dealer cases this week.

It’s also not a limited edition, albeit a tightly monitored production (linked to All Blacks capped players). If someone pays anywhere near that asking price for this watch then I’m sorry, they are either very lazy or extremely silly. And at the same time...
Still not that popular in the US
