Interesting topic....

This has been discussed many times before and it is always interesting to hear what people have to say. I am ( and have always been) a “One Watch” kind of a guy. I tend to find something I really like and then wear it every day no matter what. My first watch ( given to me by my Father in 1975 when I was ten years old ) was a Bulova, manual wind. I wore that watch faithfully until I was 21. In November of 1986 I bought my first “Premium” watch, a Rolex GMT in steel. I wore the GMT every day until I bought a Patek Philippe 3940j with a Dore’ dial in 2009. After 10 years of daily use, the 3940 became a little difficult for me to read. Currently, ( as of 3 months ago) I am wearing a Patek Philippe 5320g. Once I started wearing Patek, I had to stay with Patek. So far, I am really enjoying my 5320. It was purchased brand new from an AD in Beverly Hills, and I can easily see myself wearing it daily for at least ten years. I do own several watches (fewer than 12) . I enjoy them, but only wear one of them out the door.

I currently am not ,and not really even considering being a "one watch guy". I assume many on here may be, if not, could you be a "one watch guy"? Personally, I like to rotate every once in a while. I currently have 4 modern pieces and maybe 7 or 8 vintag...
I have a similar size collection to you.

I tend to wear modern watches through the day and swap for a vintage for the evening. That way they all get similar wrist time and I don’t consider servicing until something doesn’t feel quit right. Regards Kev.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get more. But the pieces I get interested in are nearly always in the high horology segment, and I don't yet have the budget to start making more purchases. Also, I'm someone who only wants to wear a very nice watch on occa...
Recently seven watches .

As my age progresses the less watches I tend to have , totally unintentional. At my peak I had eighteen, mostly high horology dress watches , but slowly they somehow disappeared from my collection and have been replaced with steel sports watches . Somehow...

But my criteria tends toward that.. buying something that I can wear daily. Right now I think I have 10 pieces including "beaters". My happy number might probably be 5 and I have 2 of those already out of the 10 that I have. There are days when I ask myse...
I'm pretty much a 10 watch guy with 4 on the side

Ideally I would like to own 10 amazing, never-sell grails and an additional 4 inexpensive ($500-2000) knock around watches for surfing, the gym, etc. I get anxiety if I have too many of anything, knowing damn well I have my favorites and those that I may ...
