...go through cycles with the WIS community. Maybe Breguet doesn't seem "hot" now, but there's a significant wellspring of good will toward the brand IMO. They've got some beautiful, classic pieces in their portfolio. For me, the Tradition and Classique lines are the best Breguet has to offer in general, and the Reine de Naples is one of the nicest watches for women -- the steel RdN from last year has a silicon balance spring for goodness sake! That's real WIS stuff, right there! The Tradition tourbillon with fusee chain is one of the most fun pieces I've had the pleasure of playing around with.
IMO where Breguet goes to hell is in their Marine collection. Some of the Marine pieces from the last few years are just overdone. The cases are big and chunky -- like they got into some of Roger Dubuis' stash of cases, and then they engrave the dials with delicate guilloche and slap on the Breguet hands. The pieces are confused at best.
Don't count them out though! I think there's still a lot of love out there for the house that A.-L. Breguet built.
Cheers,
Daos

it is because Abraham Breguet is long dead, and the resurrected Breguet is a conglomerate Brand, no one knows exactly who does what or who IS Breguet anymore; all we know is that whoever it is keeps making Breguet design watches... but no Mr Breguet exist...

So help me out here. I understand your reasoning, believe me I do. But how is it any different for the Richemont brands (ALS and VC)? I find all of these to be "brands" vs. companies like AP and PP. Today almost all the great watch "names" are part of lux...
