I'm not familiar with the model but based on your photo it looks like there's a slight bevel around the back of the watch, and if so, the crown would perhaps overhang this bevel...

It has that on the new L1 moonphase too. Making it hard to pull the crown with short nails.

Maybe for protection?

Or to force the user to pull the crown with both fingers from the sides and not from the bottom, what maybe could bend or cause harm to the crown tube. But I'm only guessing, let's wait for a proper response. Vte
