I’m ashamed to say I forgot a watch!

Sep 19, 2018,12:01 PM

We left home at dawn on a quick trip up to visit my father-in-law who’s almost 95. Five miles into the trip I realize “No watch!”

Can I last out the day, or should I stop and buy a new one? Plenty of stores in LA ...

Regular?

Diver?

No message body

That's like walking out of the house naked!

How did you not notice??

It was dark (naked doesn’t show)

Costco selection?

Omega diamond bezel Seamaster $11k? Nope. My favorite beater - Citizen Echo Drive titanium blue dial bracelet. This watch is great value - list is about $400 - even though the bracelet is junk, on a strap it’s a winner. No, not yet. I’ll keep looking. Mik...

Buy a new one, of course! [nt]

I can’t stand to be without a watch! Total of my Pateks are in the shop. I went back to my Rolex GMT from 1986. Very different vibe, but it’s still a very nice watch.

Home at last! Whew ...

Brother-in-law gave me one

The vintage Casio! ...

These certainly have lots of charm...

After it being around for 35 years I also succumbed to the charms of a square Casio G-Shock and got one ...

Stop! I don't need any more encouragement

Seem to be a lot going on around G-shock & vintage (yes I know that seems wrong for a digital watch) digital watches at the moment. Trying to resist, as I know I'd just buy it on a whim & then never really wear it. Cheers JML

You might be surprised...

It does get quite some time on weekends, when kids are the order of the day - the virtual indestructibility is a strong argument

Nice! A virtually “stealth” G-Shock, compared to ones I normally see

Is there a particular name or number for that model? This morning I’m wearing the previous watch I received as a gift from a member of the family: Cazalea ...

Very nice one!

Yes it does, although those tend not to be too poetic. It’s the DW5600BBN.

Oh no! I've done this twice.

Once time I had a crazy morning before work and left without it. I went back at lunch time to correct my mistake. The other was a graduation party and I honestly don't know how I forgot. Unfortunately I couldn't go back and it felt...odd.

Hide your arm in shame Mike!

Thats just terrible... and yes you should buy a watch to make up for it. Cheers Andrew

When in doubt.....
