I'd love to help turn this into a Jorg Hysek appreciation thread

But, like you said, I bet we don't have too many takers - and I think that's a shame.

Jorg Hysek is my second favorite watch designer behind Gerald Genta. Let's be totally honest - the round case with round sub-dials is a design base that has been exhausted to the millionth iteration. I appreciate any designer who looks to push the boundaries with new perspectives. Of course, that makes many of the designs polarizing to the masses which is where I think Hysek finds himself. Also, his early reliance on ETA based movements isolated a certain percentage of aficionados.

With that said, here is my HD3 Idalgo XT-2. Produced in 2006 and commercially unsuccessful it was none-the-less one of the pioneers for the avant-garde pieces that followed (especially the MB&F HM 2 which was also co-designed by Fabrice Gonet) and was ahead of the technology curve with the use of a sapphire-based dial and variable-inertia rotor.

This is a Jorg Hysek Vking that I have. Today, I change it to rubber band for a relief of my wrist because the stainless bracelet is damn heavy! Seems not so many people know this watch brand. just to share with you. ...

Very nice watch

Although I am a bracelet guy to a fault, the strap looks great. I have always admired Jorg Hysek's unique designs. I own a pen he designed for Tiffaby & Co. The Streamerica line.

Nice. I had this one for a while.

This is the first time I see this watch. A very fascinating timepiece! It must be very rare and expensive!

Thank you, Jeremy

Yes, it's quite a rare bird - they made 8 like mine in Titanium & Platinum, 33 in Rose Gold and a few Piece Uniques. Yes, the original retail was quite high. Do you follow ABlogToWatch? Ariel Adams is one of my favorite watch journalists and he wrote a ni...

Nick, I am flattered and you are more a collector to me

I just like to buy all kinds of watches whether it is an electric like Casio or a machanic like Patek as long as I can afford. But now the watches become much more expensive than they used to be. And I can not afford to buy what I want anymore.

Wow! What a watch! [nt]
