I think it is better...

if a brand what to give to enthusiast only, I have a great respect for that choice! Not every brand is able to do that. Best, Mahesh.,

I dont mind waiting for a watch for a year or two but five years !!!

 By: Watchonthewrists : December 9th, 2018-13:28
it sure is a stunning watch btw

Same (5 years) if you want 5711 or 5712 or 5167 in steel without previous purchase history from PP

Obviously the companies have internal data showing restricting production of their 'entry' models does not harm them as some people predict.

It’s boutique only now? [nt]

form

 By: aston.db4 : December 9th, 2018-14:58
wow times have changed with the demand for CB. Just curious, on the form it mentions "owner and watch amateur", is this referring to other watch brands?

I've been on list for 2 years and am being told to expect 5 more from NYC boutique

I have a similar gripe with FPJ. I put my name on the list two years ago Nov. When I made my usual call in in June to check on its status I was informed its now an application piece. I filled out an application and submitted it. I'm not an existing FPJ ow...

The Chronometre Souvraine is an awesome watch with a dial made from a gold wafer

It's lovely, I would recommend it.

This is what I was going to say.

There's a better version of this watch readily available! ...

Yes exactly.

 By: Chromatic Fugue : December 22nd, 2018-20:26
I compared the CS and CB a few years ago when they both were readily available and preferred the CS. Obviously a subjective judgment, but to me the dial on the CS is more textured and also better balanced, with the power reserve. That said, my experience ...

A deployant clasp for the CB is also coming out...

 By: Spangles - Dr. Tabby : December 9th, 2018-15:40
I have a feeling it will not be entirely tantalum, given the properties of the metal (gold is more springy, white gold is used in FPJ's pt deployant clasp).

This is crazy...

I bought one in 2014, pre owned but had only been worn a few times, and I paid well under retail, and I don’t have to look particularly hard to find it. I was under the impression that they were still relatively easy to find on the secondary market withou...

Not sure if this is a good trend...

 By: Jester : December 9th, 2018-17:14
I think Patek started this a while back. Watch Amateur? Where do we draw the definition? Imagine one day you walk into a watch store and before you can make any purchase, they need to do a thorough background check including your current net worth, your c...

I don't think reality is too far from that already, especially for limited editions of certain brands...

 By: FabR : December 9th, 2018-17:35
Luckily they don't ask me about traffic violations otherwise I would never qualify for a watch, but getting as much info about you as possible is already common practice when it comes to certain pieces ;-)

Crazy times

Just under 2 years ago, the boutique in LA had emailed me about an incoming CB to be had at retail. That was after my buddy had gotten one from an AD at 10% discount. Oh how the times have changed. I truly believe that these brands (Rolex, PP and FPJ) wil...

Big change in just over a year!

 By: Skyrider01 : December 11th, 2018-10:48
About 15 months ago I walked into a boutique and they had one available for sale. At the beginning of this year, the wait was less than a year. Now, we are up to a 5 year wait! 15 months ago, I wasn't ready to drop $20+ on a watch so I passed on the one w...

Can't wait to see that.

Have you been shown a picture of it? Or a proto?

No I have not. [nt]

Take a breath

This watch is widely available in mint condition, all over the world. At a reasonable price.
