If it leaves a bad taste in your mouth, walk away

No offense meant if you truly like this watch, but to me this is a total derivative 'also-ran' watch. It looks just like a seamaster 300, a tudor bb, or a blancpain ff. Basically an attempt to cash in on the 'in' style, which just so happens to be promoted by certain online watch content sources. But, I don't see this particular watch being an 'it' watch 10, 15, or 20 years out. Ten years hence, It will probably be thought of along the lines of: "Remember that time all the watch blogs, forum, youtube channels, and collector communities co-branded vintage looking pieces 10 years ago? Yeah.. there are so many of these preowned faux vintage-y sports watches on the sitting in dealers pre-owned cases. Too bad no one really wants them like they did back then. and everyone is obsessed with [X]" Styles come and styles go.
And, just because a watch is listed by a for a 50% markup does not mean it goes for that. If the price is too high or one doesn't like the channels a product took to get to them, there is no obligation to buy.
On a similar vein, I feel the same way about how certain brands (cough cough.. those that who traditionally position themselves as Kings) treat the market these days... I get the sense certain brands in the market, and certain segments of the vintage market are being manipulated by econ grad students to test theories about supply, demand, equilibrium price, effect of having control of messaging on putative value, etc. And additionally to allow a select few to profit handsomely from unmet demand for hot pieces.
For myself, I try to pick things that are interesting to me and ignore what I find obnoxious. Im much happier planning my next purchase when I realize I don't need to satisfy anyone elses' taste but my own, that I don't need to worry about resale, or the "market" for my pre-owned ones.
