How is it that RED is such an attractive accent color?

Sep 10, 2019,10:47 AM

After seeing xxcesar's Seiko,

 and TimJ's Seiko,

and the Rolex of vitalsigns, I realized how frequently we see RED.

I did a quick scan through my collection and came up with this assortment of watches with Red accents:

How many of us have watches with red accents? Raise you hand and let us know what you've got!

Cheers,

Cazalea

Oui! and it's independently adjustable for two separate time zones

 By: cazalea : September 10th, 2019-13:25
both hours and minutes can be set without restriction, making it a rare, true 2-zone watch for those 15 or 45 minute zones! Cazalea

Excellent! [nt]

Of course, with too much RED it can overpower us, and become glaring on our wrist.

Don't forget the red Daytona on a white dial SS model!

Too perfect. VC's SS CdV has a small red track which looks very well done (at least in pictures, hope to see it in the real).

I like the meteorite dial with red hands!

Psychologically, red as a colour grabs our attention as a warning or signal

 By: skyeriding : September 10th, 2019-21:15
Perhaps due to its use in nature, as red usually symbolises danger (e.g. blood, venomous animals, etc.). Thus it stands out as a strong accent colour, especially contrasted with a plain-coloured dial. Regards, skyeriding

Red it is...

I love the little red details of my IWC Spitfire chrono. It adds this very special touch to an already marvelous classical design. ...

Yes I seem to have a lot of red highlight examples.
