1. On holiday last year I travelled to various towns in Spain with a couple of "spare" watches, in addition to one on the wrist. The spare watches were placed in the room safe as normal. Unknown to me one evening, my partner placed her iPad in the safe on top of a vintage watch. Next morning that watch was seen to have gained several minutes. Duly magnetised, it was gaining minutes per hour! 'nough said!
2. A couple of years ago I received a present of a smart new case for my iPhone. After fitting, the built-in compass went crazy. The "clasp" of the case was of course magnetic! In the circumstances what nincompoop "designed" that for an iPhone!?
3. Without magnetism we would all be dead or even exist on this Earth. We need to stop so much casual use of magnets. Why does my car's pocket compartments have to have magnets to keep closed? What is wrong with a simple spring catch? These magnets are a curse.
