Has Hodinkee lost its authenticity? It feels like the site is more about woke watch influencers and avant-garde pieces. Does anyone else think the content is getting too sponsored

I don't want to look it up, but Hodinkee jumped the shark when Ben Clymer had one of his new human female hygiene product influencer bros write about how he didn't care about watches until he bought a hyped watch and now he cared about that, a little. Try... 

The shift away from discussions about watches to self-congratulatory puff pieces and lifestyle marketing was obvious and very sad (I'm happy this forum remains an antithesis to that), and while I don't like to see any business do poorly, I'm glad that the...

How are modern media publications supposed to scale? Traditional banner ads don't work because everyone runs ad block + they require scale Nobody is willing to pay for watch related content ...so they should just employ a bunch of people and take on entre...

There’s nothing more depressing than running a business that isn’t growing. If it’s not growing you aren’t being fed new challenges to grow in skill. It would be like a musician playing 1 piece into perpetuity.

After all, an entrepreneur is someone who starts and grows new businesses! But if you conceive yourself as a hardware shop owner, or a defense attorney, or a writer, or (god forbid) a watchmaker, there's nothing intrinsic to those identities/activities th... 

We all create the content and thereby reduce the editorial expense. We don’t sell any watches so we don’t have inventory expense or shrinkage. We snuck into a Data Center at night and ran a cord out the back, thus reducing the hosting expense. You see how...
