Horological Meandering

Has anyone from the US traveled abroad using a CBP Form 4457 (Certificate of Registration for Personal Effects Taken Abroad)?

I'm going to be heading to Geneva soon for Geneva Watch Days, and I want to bring some of my nicer watches with me. I've never been flagged by customs in either direction while wearing an expensive watch, but with all of the tariff stuff kicking into high gear, I wonder if customs officials are going to be on the lookout for high-end watches.

I'm worried that be filing a Form 4457, I may actually still have to be some sort of import duty, or need to declare it when I enter Switzerland, or something like that. Is this one of those situations where it's safest to have the proper documentation in advance or just not and hope for the best?
