Howdy fellow folks of the Horological Shire,
Some light horo-reading for this Friday, otherwise also known as redemption day, especially when one approaches noon time. Featuring some of my weekly wristwear choices, and accompanying "tasting notes", for lack of a better description, and a daily quote.
MONDAY
Corporate life and noontime half pint with my the charming Breguet Chronograph 5247 and Alfa Romeo Club cufflinks and corporate pinstrips and checks. Enamel dial, snailcam, mushroom pushers and legacy Lemania movement. Noon time reflection on certain life choices, hard and easy.
QOTD: No one losses their innocence. Its either taken or given away willingly.....Tiffany Madison.
TUESDAY
Casual halfday for shopping. Collected my new Panerai Mare Nostrum PAM 716, and loving it. I have its almost vintage forefather PAM008. Using a ETA 2801 with a Dubuis Depraz chrono module like its 1990s forebears, I like it for its relative simplicity, and for refining and continuing its vintage homage theme. Paired with all Italian ensemble of CP Company grudge jacket and Gucci snake embroidered loafers.
QOTD: I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade....And try to find somebody whose life has given vodka, and have a party....Ron White
WEDSNESDAYHeavy Guns mid week. Firing the first salvo with my 2000 pound gun in the form of the Jaeger LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon Reverso. this twin axis gyrotourby has been since replaced by a slimmer model, but if I am gonna make a statement, few beats wearing this. I love to SSS aka "stealth show in silence" this during a meeting, especially when the "opponent" is a fellow WIS.
QOTD: The most profound statements are often make in silence..Lynn Johnston
THURSDAYtypically a full long day, and one will find a chronograph appropriate as one count down to Friday. with the evergreen Vacheron Constantin Malte Chronograph, whose movement shares the same legacy Lemania as Monday's Breguet. Paired with Cartier Tortue cufflinks, to signify how slow time has become on Thursday.
QOTD: Common sense and a sense of humour are the same thing, moving at different speeds. A sense of humour is just common sense, dancing....Clive James
FRIDAYRedemption DAY....with my birthday prezzie from SheWhoMustBeObeyed...the Bamford Bvlgari Octa Chrono. I have always disliked the Bamford treatment, personally, when it first started selling blacked out Rolexs....my Purists instinct. Over time, I grew less resistant. and if Bamford is good enough for the horological wunderkid, Jean Claude Biver, who am I to disagree. Paired with Tom Ford embroidered loafers for partying.
QOTD: Behind every great man, is a woman rolling her eyes....Jim Carrey
Have a wonderful and horologically enlightmented Weekend.
best, Horo
