Exactly. The Carola is a solid, reliable "get you there" kind of item.
Not really special, rare, unique or interesting and they made it for decades. You see them everywhere, and everyone you meet has see one, been in one or owned one. It is just like a Daytona in so many ways; a really good functional version of that object.
The f550, on the other hand, you hang a poster of on your wall. Low numbers, short production, exceedingly rare. Few have seen one, most haven't, never mind worn or owned one. It is just like a JLC in so many ways; a really exceptional version of that object.

... and I really like Girard Peregaux's chronographs. A chronograph is all about readability, so on the two shown, I would go for the JLC, although the hour and minute main hands could do with a pointy end. Best, E.

The only used watch I got was a jlc... it is now 20 year old. I have never serviced it, unsure the service status when I got it over a decade ago. Actually going to be sending it in the coming weeks. Regards, Kevin
