End of the year and what goals and targets met and missed in the horological world of mine ..

My life literally revolves around my hobby of watches . I sleep , dream and live watches . A super disorder and itch to buy anything and everything which I fancy. This lead to a serious cash flow issues as money earmarked for car went into watches and then other investments go for a toss as greed to get sort after pieces make you believe they are investment grade ..

A good year and brands had been generous in allocating watches . I acquired the Patek 5711/1R, Rolex Sky D Blue , Rolex New Kermit , AP pride of Germany . Ap Royal Oak Open face double balance , Piaget Andy Warhol ,Omega moon landing Apollo 11 th steel and Omega Moonshine gold Apollo 11, Bvlgari Octo Finnisimo, then many preowned pcs which I wanted like the Rolex 168000, Rolex Explorer 1, Omega moonwatch with enamel dial and many more .Now here we are reaching year end I am hoping to get the steel Rolex Pepsi and the much awaited rolex Daytona green . Let’s see how luck would I be and will I be able to meet the set goal .

I never buy watches as investment however knowing that piece which I just picked at retail just doubled in value when stepping out of the showroom vs the cars I bought which depreciated more then 35 percent instantly..

I love the hobby and the Purist forum where I freely share my adventures and acquisitions and feels like Iam touching base with friends who understand me .

Glad to know you all and May All your wishes come true !

Of course it's also good to know that some of our nicest pieces won't (hopefully ;-) depreciate in value...Not the main consideration, but certainly a legitimate one to make (and a perfect excuse to buy even more! ;-)) Thanks for sharing your terrific rec...

I have the same affliction.

Nice group you have assembled. Huge congrats and enjoy in the best of health.

I could have written those exact same words for myself. I think it’s a problem actually. Harder for me to sell than to buy (money aside.) But it causes no harm if not hurting oneself financially or going into debt and it could be far worse; booze, drugs,

gambling and the other sex. Plus we have something to show for it versus making bad investments that can disappear. So really, is it that bad? Perhaps to stop beating ourselves up over it is the answer and let the enjoyment flow without guilt.

Plenty of empathy here...you are most definitely sharing in the right forum !!!!

That audit of 2020 so far shows a really stellar year, you acquired some fantastic watches. My issue, and something others seem to share, is that I find it hard to let pieces go. In reality, being objective about my collection/collecting, there are severa...

I totally relate to your comment and the joy we all get from this purist forum...while my 2020 journey is no where near the additions you did, I had the same reflextion as this year at one point I had sold all but one pieces and i was able to add severals...

You got that right! Health is so important - stay safe
