Do you think modern designers just running out of ideas or this is a result of auction prices making brands resume their winning formula?

It does give us a chance to own what was nice 50 years ago, similar in a way.

If the dial shows a Big 3 name...
By: Clueless_Collector : June 23rd, 2020-12:55
This will retail at 20x but looks are equally important, right? Of course I do understand there are many other factors and reasons why Big 3 is what they are today and the justification of their pricing strategy...I’m not that clueless at times 😬 It does ...
Some small details, though...

I would have preferred the bezel of the original, and the small second hand in a different color, to differentiate the small second and the minute chrono hand... Here a side by side picture to show both of them: ...
Fully agree

Would have been nice to fully incorporate these lovely manual wind movements in the re-editions
Design looks great
By: quattro98 : June 23rd, 2020-13:37
But I don’t like the running seconds at 3.
Yes, a variation on the modular 2894...

And that’s the problem with the Longines re-editions—they are pulling up the aesthetics, but not the great Longines movements of the past. With Zodiac or Heuer, it doesn’t matter—the historic movements were supplied (yes, including the Heuer Calibre 11/12...
I share your sentiments

The movements used in these reedition pieces somehow doesn’t feel right. I’m sure that’s the reason why it is reflected in the price, but to me it lacks soul.
really like the dial and the pushers

I wonder how thick it will be though? Some of the earlier Longines have been 14mm thick, which is too thick for me
This is a superb looking watch.

One of the best vintage redesign effort since a long time. Seriously considering to add this to my collection.
Amen!

Couldn't agree more haha, I find I can almost always do without the date
This reissue is ace
By: jmpTT : June 24th, 2020-05:41
If this reissue had a 30CH or 13ZN with shock protection, it would sell at least 100 pcs at $15,000 or $20,000 . There’s very little in the way of classic fine watchmaking (chronographs) at this price point today. Montblanc now starts at $30,000. Longines...
Very nicely done

Happy tosee Longines doing some nice looking watches again and to honor their glorious past. they are really doing a nice job with their heritage watches imho! Matt
Longines seems to be getting the message
By: Mostel : June 24th, 2020-13:36
Their history is preferable to their present... But we would assume, even with this handsome re-issue, that the movement is 'generic'. I did take notice of this watch, but at the same time, it's such a COPY of the past, that it is somehow uninteresting......
No doubt Nico!
By: Mostel : June 24th, 2020-13:48
And we can dream that Longines will reproduce their great movements in a modern way with modern improvements and PR... and give a bit of a twist to those extraordinary dials and cases... ! Giving the 3 Sisters and even The Great Independents a challenge, ...
A great production by Longines!

Of course, if compared to the original, some things are different, but it looks great as is. I think that real collectors would hunt for original models, and that these re-issues are for people who look a nice watch with a vintage look. The whole "heritag...
