Diamond Bezel Watch

Apr 24, 2019,20:23 PM

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend.  What about diamonds for men??   Would you, or would you not wear a watch with diamonds completely encircling the bezel, like the JC MUT with diamond bezel?  We 've seen a few diamonds on dials such as Rolex, among others. I, for one wouldn't mind having one, especially the Master Ultra Thin with diamond bezel, it's a little above my pay grade for now but that doesn't mean I can't dream a bit.

Both aesthetically and financially. I prefer to spend $$$ for horological advancement (movements, R&D, etc) but not on bling. My $0.02 Cheers

I’m more yes than no (probably an unusual answer from an Italian guy!), though it always depends on the watch in the end.

For instance, I wouldn’t mind the 5297, which is very simple and classical Calatrava (save for the diamonds), that I think looks equally good on me and my girlfriend (I’ll try to send some wristshots tomorrow from the laptop!), even though I never felt a ...

I prefer my watches without diamonds on the bezel with one exception

Actually I like the idea of a small diamond between the lugs. It is not visible and that is important for me. Best, Kari

Agree..

To be honest I would prefer PP to make more ladies watches without diamonds.

I agree.

In the past Patek had dedicated movements for ladies and the watches were small. Nowadays the focus is clearly on revenus and the ladies’ models are nearly the same as men’s but with diamond bezel. I think Patek can’t compete with likes Breguet Reine de N...

Back in the '80s I would have loved to have a diamond bezel watch, preferably Rolex, but not likely today.

My only 'diamond' watch is this, with a diamond so small it's almost unnoticeable. And even though it's very tiny I still hesitated buying it because of the diamond, although it has since become one of my favorites. ...

I think diamonds have their places in men's watches

But 99.9% of them look like they are slapped on to juice bottom lines. Diamonds don't do well in watch designs because they don't show the contours of the cases well. They usually totally destroyed the original design or obscured it as a result.

Obscure the case shape? not necessarily

Cazalea ...

Case details

In your example, i see two green outlines and a swath of diamonds. There is almost no contrast for the silver areas. It also makes the dial difficult to read.

I love diamonds ...
