Definitely hand wound

although I am guilty by owning more automatic than manual wind watches. Manual wind watches to me capture the spirit of watchmaking much more and there is a great satisfaction derived from winding a watch daily especially when the mechanism is silky smooth!  smile

Something satisfying about it. That said, automatic is nice in the sense that you have to actively move with the watch on, which can increase the bonding experience ;-)

Even though my entire collection is comprised of automatics, I find myself winding them every night😁

I don't have a real preference for a handwound or automatic watch

A Radiomir should be handwound for example or a Reverso. I would not like it as automatic.

For daily wear all round watches (Rolex OP, Blancpain Villeret GMT) and sports watches (VC Overseas) I prefer automatic. I just put them in the winder at night and grab one in the morning For more “upscale” or dress watches I have prefer manual. With the ...
