Complications

My most “complicated” watch is the CFB ChronoGrade. It’s a lot of watch for the money IMO.

Blue Horizons: Carl F. Bucherer Releases Two New Manero Flyback Models

 By: JToddH : July 28th, 2020-07:18
There is certainly nothing unusual about longing for the wide world and still feeling a strong connection to the place that we call home. Much like the cosmopolitan men and women of today, the Manero Flyback by Carl F. Bucherer is at home anywhere in the ...

I had to jump in on this one!

As you may know, I'm (admittedly) a huge fan of the brand. I currently have a gold Manero Flyback Retro with plans to purchase the steel Retro as well. That said, I believe the Manero Flyback is the perfect mix of contemporary and classic design. The deta...

The forgotten beauties

Great story about a tru Swiss watch manufacturer. Flies under the radar, while having great and original watches. Ok, more colleagues sitting in the same boat. I almost bought a watch in their Berlin boutique, but unfortunately i bought my watch in anothe...

I agree that they fly "under the radar."

That's one of the things I appreciate about the brand. Their designs stand on their own and I can certainly attest to their quality as I have several in my collection and wear them often. The Manero Flyback, in any flavor, is just plain sexy! Here's my Re...

Let’s generate attention for Carl F. Bucherer. I am happy u start to inform us about the Manero.

I wasn't familiar with the brand until just a few years ago.

THEN I saw the TravelTec FourX which remains my grail to this day! ...

Nice brand

Would never buy something from Carl Bucherer - brands like that will be forever ‘designer watches’ for me.

Designer Watches?

 By: JToddH : July 28th, 2020-09:58
Have you seen their in-house movements? The CFB A1000 with the first practical peripheral rotor? I've disassembled & assembled an A1000 and the rotor system is pure genius. What about the A1000's Covert Laser Recognition feature, or "CLR," or its "Central...

U are right

Agree. CFB is a proper manufacturer. An independent also. The only problem could be, servicing a watch. In house movements, a few watch repair and service points only. As for example a watch from Omega, Rolex, and Panerai could bring for service at a watc...

Not a problem in the US

 By: JToddH : July 28th, 2020-11:40
Many of their watches are built on ETA or Selita movements so anyone (in theory) could work on them. In the case of in-house movements, the authorized CFB repair facility in the US is Stoll, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio. Stoll Inc. is the largest independent watc...

No worries CFB

 By: Weems@8 : July 28th, 2020-12:37
Good to read that. Than no trees are blocking any road to chose a CFB. The other reason can only be a taste question, pricing. But for me no problem. If CFB have a watch i like (3 or 4 complications max), dial design, a great presence, than it’s a matter ...

Impressed by it’s simply approach of complexity

You almost change my watch taste. Your ChronoGrade is so tru in it’s appearance. Not a shiny bling, an enthusiast watch. The other members should look at it! I did, and know what i know. CFB is tru and purist.

Nice watch. Seems very well-designed...IMO, much better than what many of the vaunted Swiss houses churn out.

This particular piece is too large for me, however. 43mm and 14.5 mm thick is a big watch. Perhaps not for some, but for me and my 7.25" wrist. I really like many of the CFB pieces and they are worthy of serious consideration. Cheers, John

Nice but... generic?

 By: Mostel : August 3rd, 2020-19:28
Meh... Gotta be a steal to buy. But it IS eye catching, FWIW.

Fair enough.

 By: JToddH : August 10th, 2020-05:31
Of course (as I found out) when you see it on the wrist, it may change your perspective. Personally, I thought, "a blue dial" was just another modest color change. But when I saw it, wow! Bottom line, I wasn't a huge fan of "traditional/classic" looking c...

Geez, I guess 15 years with mine makes me the CFB old timer!

 By: MichaelC : August 4th, 2020-08:42
The fact that someone considers this brand nothing more than a "designer watch" is sad. It is so much more than that. I really like the offerings in this product line, some cool dials and combinations.

Agree Michael but even the AD whispered...

Don't buy it new... I won't let you. Quote.

Well, I personally don't worry about value with my watches.

 By: MichaelC : August 10th, 2020-17:46
Sure, I like a good deal, but I buy what I want and don't look back. Tomorrow is promise to no one, I will enjoy today

Carpe Diem. Amen. ;) [nt]

Not as accurate as a $2 quartz

 By: JToddH : August 20th, 2020-05:14
Movement is based on SW500. Easily serviced using standard tools and parts. That's a plus in my book. I've had my Gold Manero Flyback Retro for about a year and it is a solid performer, one of my go-to pieces. Perhaps that's why I'm kind of excited about ...
