Baroque Styling in Watchmaking- Article and Question

Apr 14, 2021,05:18 AM

So, if anyone follows my posts, they know I am a big fan of very flamboyant and aesthetically complicated watches. I also am a big fan of baroque and so thought what watches fall in the baroque category of watch design. Here is a fantastic article discussing this but wanted to know every ones opinion on Baroque styling in watchmaking and what watches can be categorized of having this styling. I am ofc, very much biassed and feel that if it isn't baroque don't fix it ;P

I bet his objection was on the logic rather than the language (i.e., since you like Baroque, you may want to "fix" something which is not ;-)

My reference to Volker was on his latest Patek, which I see now was linked to you above -- I'm glad you like it, it's indeed an impressive example of Patek art! Cheers.

Lolz, I have no idea!!

It is awesome! I am honestly not too big of Patek but when they do stuff like that, it def makes me want to change my opinion! Same with JLC, they need to do more baroque stuff, altho I feel like they lean towards more the gothic and less baroque
