Around Five Sculpture of Time 4 Year Review Follow Up

Moderator Patrick_y follows up on his review of the Around Five "Sculpture of Time" Clock he started using back in November 2020.  Nearly four years later, it's been a great ownership experience thus far!

Some of you may recall that I have a "Sculpture of Time" clock from Around Five.  The clock was created by two ingenious individuals.  Please read the initial review of the Around Five clock here:  www.watchprosite.com

I have been using the clock for nearly four years.  I started using the clock in November 2020 and I have around 47 months of experience with the clock.  So far, it's been a great clock.

Clock accuracy has been difficult to measure, since the clock doesn't have a second hand.  But from what I can see, the clock is fairly accurate.

BATTERY CHANGE EXPERIENCE
After about three years of using the clock on a daily basis, I actually noticed the clock started to lose time.  But, when I changed the time by pushing the buttons, the clock still moved enthusiastically and just like when the batteries were fresh.  So I didn't think it was a battery issue.  The clock also seemed to have lost calibration of where the start and ends of the clock were.  I was almost convinced that it wasn't a battery issue, so I brought up the fact that the clock wasn't performing well with Around Five Co. and they told me that this was normal when the batteries were dead.  I hadn't realized that it had already been 3+ years of me running the clock on the original batteries, so I popped in 5x AA sized batteries and the clock has worked perfectly since!

So those of you who see the clock behaving strangely, just change out the batteries!

Once I put in new batteries, the clock motor whirred to life and went to 6AM, it was recalibrating itself and learning the position of 6AM again.  Smart clock!

Overall, I really like the clock!  They've come out with a cool dark version with lume material - that looks Tron inspired!  But the classic version still looks great too!  I'm really looking forward to the next four years of ownership!  And hopefully the batteries last another 3 years like last time!

There's also a nice sound element. Every minute, when it moves the "sail" that indicates the time on the "wave" there is a big "thunk" sound like a mechanical clock. When I first heard that sound, I was thinking that it'd use a lot of batteries and that t...

Yes!

I treat it as a sculpture in my home. It sits on a big commode as a small work of art.
