An intriguing comparison...

So here are two watches. They do not represent an "apples to apples" comparison. But for my money they do represent one of the modern watch-buyer's dilemmas. On the one hand the choice might be as easy as "What's more important to you?" On the other, there's the matter of wanting to protect one's investment. What choice would you make, and why? Both watches are currently for sale. And both are beautiful. The Chopard on our Forum; the Habring2 on Chrono24.  Have a good day!   FH

P.S. (A quick apology to the WPS seller: In a hurry here and failed to ask your permission for this. Hopefully you are only too happy for the advert. If not, PM me and I'll have the moderator take this down!)

Chopard L.U.C. XP, 18K rose gold, 39mm; $6,800 usd (closed case back)

Habring2 Erwin, dead seconds, Stainless, 38.5mm; $6,190 usd (sapphire case back)

Many thanks. Interesting analysis. I was thinking the Chopard's elegance (not that its competitor isn't handsomely spare) would get the better of Habring's complication. But not so

entrancing in the rose gold. Fascinating to learn from the eyes of the experienced. ;-) (Sending you a PM)

If you want a very dressy dress watch, the Chopard I think.

if you want something that’s a bit on the sporty side of the spectrum, the Habring. The Chopard’s gold case and lack of a seconds hand make it dressy, dressy, dressy. Also, I believe that the applied numerals on this model have a curved cross section, bot...

I would definitely go for the Chopard.

At that price point you can hardly get a better finished watch.
