Horological Meandering

Absolutely, JLC makes formidable watches, but I bet real money that similar category Rolex would outlast them in everyday harsh conditions. We all know and heard stories of unserviced Rolexes that work well for over thirty years, worn every day,

 

not in rotation with other watches. Most of the watches we see and love here on the forum, don’t even have a swirl on them, so the true reliability is never tested.
As for the modern models with the new innovations, and the extreme tests that this Rolex watches have to endure, I place my bet on the crown.
Now when it comes to design and looks, that is totally subjective, opinion/decision, to each his own...
I owned most modern steel Daytona’s, sold them all because of legibility reasons, but the movement, is an indestructible tank, and I think all who handled or owned one can attest to that...
And lastly you trio is a tasteful collection of JLC’s finest, therefore I wish to return to this conversation in another twenty years for a better field report and more accurate comparison!😉🥂

I think JLC does. It certainly has a more elaborately crafted case. The owner has the option of exchanging straps/bracelets. Between the 2 shown the JLC has a more precise movement and buttery smooth winding. The Daytona is a great watch too although I th...

... and I really like Girard Peregaux's chronographs. A chronograph is all about readability, so on the two shown, I would go for the JLC, although the hour and minute main hands could do with a pointy end. Best, E.

The only used watch I got was a jlc... it is now 20 year old. I have never serviced it, unsure the service status when I got it over a decade ago. Actually going to be sending it in the coming weeks. Regards, Kevin

All three were bought new and have never been serviced. Still working as good as they did day one...😉 ...

I have driven the Toyota Corolla. It was my rental to get to a PuristSPro watch event back in the day! Not a bad rental car. But not a blood pumper.

Exactly. The Carola is a solid, reliable "get you there" kind of item.

Not really special, rare, unique or interesting and they made it for decades. You see them everywhere, and everyone you meet has see one, been in one or owned one. It is just like a Daytona in so many ways; a really good functional version of that object....

Those experiences stay with you. They're just amazing pieces of machinery. I always considered myself a Ferrari Fan instead of a Lamborghini lover, I would even go as far as to say Lamborghinis are "out there" and the Ferraris are more "elegant." But once...
