Almost the same here: 6 out, 0 in. I still have to reduce, but I hope that it will be for one or two in.

Wow, 6 out, none in. That‘s great. Didn‘t think, you still had „that many“ left. I was under the impression, that you already had a collection reduced to only very special pieces.

Naaah, not yet, I am working on that. My ideal ratio? Ten out / one in.

I recognize the number 10. My 3-year-target is to reduce my total collection by 10 pieces, which basically means I'll have to sell about 14-16 to be able to get new pieces in.

It seems that 2020 is a " zero year " for many of us...

Two had to go for me as well. Another one is one the pipeline to leave. I will have at least one watch comming in this year. A major one (for me at least)

Wow, I'm not at the point to go down to two pieces. Congratulations to that achievement. There's way more than two pieces I'm not willing to sell at the moment.

Well, as I'm not a collector of Rolex or PP Nautilus or such, the biggest step to sell some of my watches was to admit to myself, that the market value for these watches is often below the subjective value I attributed to them.

That is true. It’s quite liberating once you get over the value part of the equation. Turnover is more important than potential gain not to mention getting rid of that nagging feeling which is priceless in itself (nt)

Take your time. Start with selling just one or two watches. Gain experience how to do it. It's a better feeling to sucessfully sell one watch, than to unsuccessfully try to sell 5 watches.

Nicely done sir! Clearly I did not meet that objective this year! Though I did in 2019...still planning to be net positive in 2021 as well but a few pieces might go as well...

I keep thinking less would be better. Yet I just had a triple whammy of incoming! 1 out, followed by 1 to 3 in is not working! MANY out followed by a Freak Blue Cruiser in would be better!

That is a great approach Thomas! Trying as well to only have watches I love 100%. Challenge is over time our taste sometime change...
