2018: Your most worn watches.

Dec 18, 2018,04:25 AM

So, what's hogged the most wrist time this year for everyone.  And were there any surprises in how those watches may have found themselves more frequently on the wrist.

For me I'll chose two watches, quite different but equally wrist grabbing.

#1 Rolex Sub Hulk. It's a utility watch, or tool watch, but with a sparkle.  The green dial and bezel just add that little bit more which some might argue is unnecessary for a tool watch.  I just wish it was a little skinnier!

#2 Urwerk 105 CT Streamliner.  I am honestly surprised at how much I reach for this watch.  In thinking about the purchase my expectations were not so great in terms of how much wrist time it would see but it's run the Hulk very close I think on most wrist time in 2018 (and I haven't had it for the full year).  Very wearable as I've mentioned before, under the radar for 99.9999999% of the population and just bloody interesting to see on the wrist.

Please share your top 1, 2 or 3 watches in terms of wrist time for 2018.  If you can, add some commentary too.

My top 4 of 2018

 By: Maltie : December 18th, 2018-05:29
These 4 watches have got the most wrist time in 2018. The most special of all is by far the 5131R I got from my lovely wife for my 50th birthday. ...

The 5131R, and that green strap, is just fantastic. Such a romantic watch.

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 18th, 2018-05:43
From your posts it seems the RM was definitely creeping up there in terms of stealing wrist time.

It is romantic not only from the watch perspective but more from the occasion and the giver.....

 By: Maltie : December 18th, 2018-07:12
Yes that RM is getting more and more wristtime. So light and comfortable.

This year was year of Rolex for me and yes some GP Zenith and Seiko but

mostly these two Best of both worlds...sport and classy although many will not concur with Tony being classy but whatyagonnado Cheers D ...

Tony was a lot of things, classy was definitely not one of them. But whatyagonnado.

It's mimicry ;) [nt]

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : December 19th, 2018-00:53
I recently had a chance to try it for the first time. It was really difficult to walk away from this one.

I won’t regret it.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : December 19th, 2018-01:14
My other watches might.

Didn't have to think at all...

it goes with every attire, i've a smaller wrist & this fits well... one watch life - simpler but isn't it too hard ?! Best, mahesh.,

Moser Endeavour Dual Time for me

 By: Artoxares : December 18th, 2018-06:57
All the best, nicolas ...

Thx Jay

 By: Artoxares : December 18th, 2018-17:17
Not sure this one is still in the catalogue, it's therefore more and more difficult to find. What you're seing is an a.m./p..m. indicator: it's white before noon and black in the afternoon in your home timezone.

Never seen that on a Moser before .

 By: Watchonthewrists : December 18th, 2018-23:35
Thats rare imo

Certainly my Patek 3970j

 By: baufoam : December 18th, 2018-08:59
The most common of Patek’s Grand Complications. It’s a practical watch and a great β€œDailey Wearer”. ...

I am boring...

 By: claes_t : December 18th, 2018-11:19
I haven’t rotated this year except maybe for a couple of hours at a time. This has been my faithful companion more or less non stop... Any brief rotation has been purely for my own pleasure and (sadly) not for any extended period of time. The others have ...

Super selection Claes. [nt]

 By: amanico : December 18th, 2018-11:21

Thank you.

 By: claes_t : December 18th, 2018-11:26
I think it comes down to the fact that the Explorer II will take a beating and the way I live will dish some outπŸ˜„. It sort of rules out the more delicate watches for most of the time.

Love the Lemania

 By: JohnFM : December 18th, 2018-13:51
... a simple, understated beauty!

Thnx [nt]

 By: claes_t : December 18th, 2018-14:31

Looks like a nice rotation.

1) JLC my favorite watch of the moment, just love it 2) AP Millenary, when I first got the watch I couldn't wear it enough and as usual I got bored with it and I wanted to sell it. Then one day I had an idea to get it customized so now its back and no lon...

This year, definitely these ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : December 18th, 2018-12:53
... sporty and sometimes vintage-style beauties on various straps: Weird: for the first time, no Ulysse Nardin among the top five ... Marcus ...

I'm not a bracelet guy ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : December 20th, 2018-01:35
... and even when I cannot avoid buying a watch with bracelet, that quickly finds itself tugged away in a box and replaced by some strap. Marcus

Somehow, yeah. Wander why. [nt]

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : December 19th, 2018-04:27

Meanwhile a big baby, Rasputin still is chewing on the watch and strap ....

Great name. [nt]

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : December 19th, 2018-00:56
You're clearly in need of a Tony. Textbook case.

Perhaps perhaps

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : December 19th, 2018-03:56
A little bit of Tony...

Or is it Ciro for you? [nt]

My most worn

 By: jml_watches : December 18th, 2018-13:42
Hi I know my most worn watch for sure. Urushi - on my wrist every day. For most days all day. Others with plenty of wrist time included Omega Memomatic - bought last year & still has lots of draw. Then after that it gets a bit hazy, as it tends to be what...

No trend to report . . .

 By: Dr No : December 18th, 2018-17:04
. . . other than mainly vintage. And Omega. ;-)

No sins there. [nt]

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 18th, 2018-17:16

Tough call, I wear all my watches equally and evenly...

 By: sleepy_templar : December 18th, 2018-17:16
If it has to be 3 most in 2018, I guess them? ...

These have been on my wrist most of the year, well ,almost the whole year now

 By: halkcb : December 18th, 2018-17:55
explorer 2 which is such a good travel companion apart from being a useful time zone watch my spring drive with its accuracy, dial and ample power reserve ...and since i picked it up three to four months ago, this has been THE WATCH ,almost a daily wear---y...

Two very cool picks πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Here are mine: ...

Glad you like them, Jay!

 By: KMII : December 19th, 2018-08:04
At some point I discovered the fun of playing with straps and there are many fantastic strap makers out there 😊

You are absolutely right there...

 By: KMII : December 19th, 2018-21:45
Some tentative steps are fortunately being taken there as well but there’s still a way to go 😊

My top 2 in 2018.

 By: Dmitriy : December 18th, 2018-22:08
...

Nice pairing.

 By: zabreg1 Mr White : December 19th, 2018-00:57
I guess we now know your favorite color combos.

Hi Jay. The most worn and appears top on my iphone are probably these:

 By: Seeks : December 19th, 2018-03:20
Omega And Lange Great idea for a superb thread. Best regards ...

many thanks!

 By: Seeks : December 19th, 2018-06:42
it’s a go-to watch for many occasions

Boring but true...

 By: CR : December 19th, 2018-18:15
It has been a (vintage) Rolex year for me too. A simple 1680 Red Sub and 1675 GMT have gotten the most wrist time. These are not exactly breathtaking watches (though they're nice examples), but I love wearing them. In case you're wondering about the first...

These 2..

 By: Echi : December 19th, 2018-23:25
For the better part of 3 quarters although the ones I wore most during this last quarter will probably be my most worn for 2019. 000 372 Best, Echi ...
