You are so right!!! With a bit of research one can find so many forgotten gems.

1990s and 2000s Breguet, VC, JLC, non royal oak AP, early Roger Dubuis etc etc
And I love the Montblanc Villeret. Because they didn't have the history and the brand, so Jerome Lambert had to sell based on the quality of the pieces.

Impossible to choose between those two.

The minerva is "better" finished, but it is a much larger movement so "easier" to do so. I would say - equally impressive. ...

Great shots!

IMO, the Montblanc wins on the back, the Breguet wins on the front

Superb guilloché.

For sure the Breguet is a fantastic catch

when you like guilloche there is a Minerva offering as well ...

Indeed - and they are very rare to find

Villeret has got the top quality, all of it is in-house, even the hair springs are drawn through successive smaller dies in-house, the hair springs are even paired with their balance wheels in-house by hand (formerly by a lady who collected tractors, I do...

Well said!

I am envious of you and also happy for you that you do not need to decide between the two.

I can recommend the Minerva without reservation.

I have the blue dial steel version and other than potentially a Datograph, it may in a league of its own for that incredible movement. Now, I only wish the dial on my watch said Minerva and not Montblanc. But that is a small quibble.
