Yes don’t see them pop up for sale very often.

As it’s a very limited run in 1997 IIRC, can’t remember the exact number though. The original is actually more commonly seen for sale.

My newly arrived Junghans J88 ...

... no I was lying. It’s only the limited re-edition by Junghans made in 1998(?). But it surely is one of the most faithful remade in the world of watch re-edition. Case size, proportion and details are all spot on. Though I don’t have the original, looki...

It has a Breguet-esque flair

Kind of teuton type XX. Very nice! René

Yes, because the French Type XX took its design cues

from the German Flieger Chronographs from that period, which is the origin of this re-edtion. The post war military issued by Hanhart, Junghans and Tutima etc.

Thanks for the clarification Alfisti!

I wasn’t so wrong then 👍🏼 It fits your wrist really well. Enjoy! René

I once tried the current version and the quality did not really convince for a modern watch

Cant tell about your older one. But from the design, this is one of the top watches to me. Cheers Kolosstt

Can’t fault the quality on mine at all...

particularly considering it’s a 20 years old watch, from a less known and non top tier manufacturer. Conpare to a recent Longines, I would say it’s on par, if not better in terms of quality and feel. I am happy witht that.

Look cool but not a good design in term of function...

because it is a friction type bi-directional bezel. It’s not that tight really, also like the original, so can be easily knocked out of position.

Love the bezel!

It runs a Voljoux 7760 manual wind movement.

Nice post. I like it. The watch looks nice to me

I don't believe anyone has yet commented on the tip of the minute hand. Is it really bent to accommodate the plexi, or is that parallax? (Perhaps this should be obvious. I'm still learning!) And… It's always a joy to hear a proud owner's words of praise f...
