Why choose?
Get both, I use the submariner mostly for work as it has the cyclops which helps me with my fading 42 year old eyes. The SD is a nice change up every now and then; when I want a bit of the same but a little different. Both great watches in their own right.
Meandering
A short road trip to Loei Province in Thailand, a few hundred kilometers up the Mekong River from where I live, with a 16600 as a companion. In recent months, it's been my usual travel companion; I do need a change for the upcoming trip in a week or two! ...
It amazes me that anyone would opt for the Submariner....
Over the Sea Dweller...no cyclops...better depth...and not too much bigger!

I'm biased but it's always been a Sea Dweller for me, 1665 onwards. I do find the earlier Subs to be quite characterful, though.

Ah young man
after a cataract surgery and lenses being implanted, the cyclops becomes superfluous!
