or Date, They are nowadays an instrument to make money, this is what's happening to Rolex and Patek Philippe in Hong Kong. I can't speak for other countries because I reside in HK and I have noticed this trend over the last year or two, that people are swooping up all Sports models then flipping them once the models reached their target prices. No longer are people talking about the movement, material used, characteristic of the timepiece, they walked in the shop and wanted to know which models have a better hit rate, how much higher it will fetched in 6 to 12 months time, will it get discontinued, these kind of questions. Because of this, it pushes up prices daily if not weekly, even so called AD are involved with the price hike, brand recommended retail price are irrelevant to the masses, they will only sell a piece or two to so called "Super VIP", someone already spent millions with the AD, at the suggested price. For consumers who can't wait to get a Patek from the boutique (AD), grey marketeers got their stocks from elsewhere, and doubling / tripling Nautilus stainless steel, and still in great demand. However, most Asian only recognized PP's Nautilus and Aquanaut, they virtually blinded with the other collections. Last week, I even saw a double seal PP for sale, to me that's impossible unless this shop purchaser managed to get the item through another PP AD without opening the seal, for a handsome return. How about a PP 6300G-001 or 5740/1G/001 or 6102R-001 or 6104R-001 (single seal)? These are available all with a hefty premium on top...
