I could make an exception!!!
Chopard XPS in Platinum would qualify . So would Patrimony. But then neither have enamel dial nor guillochešŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ

Simpler Time-only watches

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-03:32
Do you prefer with seconds hand or just 2 hands. I personally prefer second hands so I can tell the watch is running. ...

Iā€™m ok with central seconds or at the subdialā€¦

My 1815 is the HG, the lighting condition can make it look like YG or RG šŸ˜Š Thanks kindly

I like both!

For me when it comes to two and three handed dress watches, the important factor is the elegance of the case and the dial. The hands, the numerals, the shape of the lugs all matter possibly more than the number of hands.

Yes, there are many factors indeedā€¦

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-03:38
Hence the recent Patek Philippe 6119 was phrased as ā€œSimplicity is difficultā€

For me, the long lugs of the 6119

 By: sham1 : May 11th, 2021-03:50
destroyed the watch. 39mm is ok for a dress watch but those lugs have made the watch wear even larger.

Thatā€™s the beauty of collectingā€¦

Always two sides on a coin, some see Heads, some see Tails.

And thank goodness that we all have different tastes!

 By: sham1 : May 11th, 2021-06:18
Or else we would all be wearing the same watch

My vote is for just two hands

 By: houstonian : May 11th, 2021-03:39
It helps you to focus on the beauty of the watch. I hope to own this one day soon. Photo credit Watch Professor. ...

This 175th anniversary 1815 Thin is stunningā€¦

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-03:42
If not my for 1815 HG F A Lange, I will jump on that.

Aventurine is a great way to do just two hands

 By: houstonian : May 11th, 2021-03:51
Both of your Langeā€™s pictured above are fabulous

The one you show has the HG case but Saxonia movementā€¦

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-04:11
Which are the 2 reasons why I had to pass, because of my non-redundancy guide.

Thanks for the kind wordsā€¦.this Saxonia Copper Blue is really nice in real.

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-04:14
Like the reasons I gave on the 1815 HG Thin above, if I donā€™t have this Saxonia, I will get the new Little Lange 1 Aventurine released this yearā€¦canā€™t have both, sigh.

I think depends on the watch.

For the larger ones a running seconds brings balance to the dial, but the smaller ones look elegant with 2 hands. Thatā€™s a beautiful collection!

Thatā€™s true tooā€¦dial size, logo, indices all matter on the design.

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-04:41
Damnā€¦.itā€™s complicated šŸ˜¬šŸ˜œ Thank you.

Both are ok

 By: agyzace : May 11th, 2021-05:12
It is the rest of the package and how it comes together that makes or breaks it. Your selection is superb btw!!

Totally agree itā€™s the whole package, aesthetics, movements, metal, dial balance etc.

Thanks kindly, your Pt VC is top top stunning too šŸ™šŸ»

That opens up for more watches :))

Two hander is the essence of simplicity

 By: chintu : May 11th, 2021-08:52
The minimalist approach in a two hander keeps the dial clean and presents a lovely sense of space. It is however essential that two hand watch dials ought to have a greater focus on the following to make it a sublime visual experience. Dial: either guillo...

That is cool that you actually defined the specs you wanted šŸ‘šŸ»

RL PLM and the 1815 HG Thin will be almost perfect for you. Youā€™re right on for the date windowsā€¦and I absolutely dislike it at 4:30pm. Have you found any that fits your criteria?

Though Richard Lange PLM has sub-seconds dial

 By: chintu : May 11th, 2021-15:10
I could make an exception!!! Chopard XPS in Platinum would qualify . So would Patrimony. But then neither have enamel dial nor guillochešŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ

The 175th Anniversary 1815 Thin has 2 piece enamel dial...not blue hands but with HG hands...

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-16:35
I think that watch is the closest fitting your specs

I prefer with seconds hand.

 By: lm6 : May 11th, 2021-10:23
But small seconds to give some movement and life to the face of the watch. A central seconds hand tends to become obtrusive IMO.

I never thought about the central seconds hand causing obstructionā€¦.

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-12:54
but thatā€™s a good point, now that you mentioned. Thanks.

I much prefer with the small seconds āœ‹

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : May 11th, 2021-10:38

Generally prefer running seconds

 By: rnaden : May 11th, 2021-11:05
Just so I know that it's running, but it's not a hard rule. I have those two handed ones, and I love them just as much if the design, proportions and legibility are there.

Haha, same reasons I also like to see if itā€™s runningā€¦

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-13:11
Like you said, designs are important and for the Golden Ellipse, itā€™s best to keep just 2 hands.

Depends on the watch...

 By: oliver.mellors : May 11th, 2021-16:44
But that is a stunning collection! Especially like your Lange.

One of them...ahem, Chopard caught your eyes :)

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-17:10
Thanks for your kind words.

The three musketiers.

 By: Weems@8 : May 11th, 2021-19:43
Or the three horsemen. Three simple high quality dressers. A reply from my side is not complete with chose a winner. Itā€™s your latest, itā€™s a 25 LE, Chopard! The second best goes to your Patek Philippe. The second picture: Your round Patek Philippe at rig...

Thanks for the awardsā€¦very good to know.

 By: Clueless_Collector : May 11th, 2021-20:35
The round Patek Philippe on the 2nd picture belongs to my boss šŸ™šŸ»
