Do you prefer with seconds hand or just 2 hands. I personally prefer second hands so I can tell the watch is running. ...

For me when it comes to two and three handed dress watches, the important factor is the elegance of the case and the dial. The hands, the numerals, the shape of the lugs all matter possibly more than the number of hands.

Hence the recent Patek Philippe 6119 was phrased as “Simplicity is difficult”

destroyed the watch. 39mm is ok for a dress watch but those lugs have made the watch wear even larger.

Always two sides on a coin, some see Heads, some see Tails.

Or else we would all be wearing the same watch

Like the reasons I gave on the 1815 HG Thin above, if I don’t have this Saxonia, I will get the new Little Lange 1 Aventurine released this year…can’t have both, sigh.

For the larger ones a running seconds brings balance to the dial, but the smaller ones look elegant with 2 hands. That’s a beautiful collection!

The minimalist approach in a two hander keeps the dial clean and presents a lovely sense of space. It is however essential that two hand watch dials ought to have a greater focus on the following to make it a sublime visual experience. Dial: either guillo... 

RL PLM and the 1815 HG Thin will be almost perfect for you. You’re right on for the date windows…and I absolutely dislike it at 4:30pm. Have you found any that fits your criteria?

I could make an exception!!! Chopard XPS in Platinum would qualify . So would Patrimony. But then neither have enamel dial nor guilloche🙈🙈

I think that watch is the closest fitting your specs

But small seconds to give some movement and life to the face of the watch. A central seconds hand tends to become obtrusive IMO.

Just so I know that it's running, but it's not a hard rule. I have those two handed ones, and I love them just as much if the design, proportions and legibility are there.

Like you said, designs are important and for the Golden Ellipse, it’s best to keep just 2 hands.
