If this reissue had a 30CH or 13ZN with shock protection, it would sell at least 100 pcs at $15,000 or $20,000 . There’s very little in the way of classic fine watchmaking (chronographs) at this price point today. Montblanc now starts at $30,000.
Longines is rebuilding the brand by continuing to remind us of its great past. To-date, the modern pieces do not have the fine watchmaking soul. Maybe they are planning to change this one day? Who doesn’t want a successor to the 30CH that could be worn daily without worry. Would be a highly anticipated limited annual edition. Would it really cannibalize sales of the very limited Air Command?
This reedition is still highly desirable and I’d like to be the person who buys this as their first quality watch.
