Slightly tongue in cheek showing people in common situation but with a hint of who they really were and what they really liked.

Thank you, Sir. Having my wife take respectable photos is one way I can enjoy my watches when I can't wear them all.

The Zenith is from the Port Royal line. It was designed by the Portuguese jeweller J. Borges Freitas for the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Brazil in 2000. That includes the rather beautiful execution of Art Deco fonts for the painted numerals. Ther...

Thank you so much for the color!

A fascinating story which makes the watch even more special.

Thank you very much.

So cool!

Thanks for the information on this tank...those numerals are fantastic! (Now, about that date window which so unfortunately cuts off the ‘6’...) Best E.

I agree. For the life of me I don't know why anyone would go to the effort of designing a dial like that only to sully it with a pathetic vestige of a date window.

I suppose it's because the watch uses a date movement, but still. It's not a deal breaker though. Overall this watch attracts more attention than any in my collection (from fellow watch collectors and everyone else). I love it.

Agreed...and btw, “pathetic vestige” had me chortling...

Definitely not a deal-breaker. Just one of those things that you look at and go “hmmm, if only!” Enjoy! Best E.

Great size!

Congrats on your collection: it is full of character

Maybe it reflects your own tendency to go against the trend? Lovely Port Royal - I have seen one before but it is a clear illustration of my thoughts above

Nice of you to say, thank you.

I'm actually rather conservative, which I think comes through in this sub-set. At the same time, curiosity leads me into lesser trodden corners of the familiar. The El Primero Chronograph is from the much-loved Chronomaster line pre-LVMH, and is an odd cr...

Indeed!

... and I am a fan of dark painted Buckley dials - grey, black or blue. They are rare credit vintagewatchcollective ...

Nice collection
