I’m headed out for my first vacation in a long time on the 14th and I’m bringing/wearing the one I recently purchased specifically as a “vacation watch”. This one should handle practically any conditions.

How many watches do you take on vacation?

Now that travel has begun to pick up, when you go on holiday, do you wear one for all occasions or multiple timepieces? I generally bring three. One for daytime and two for evening wear.

Depends on how long is the vacation....

and the location. On a 2 weeks vacation, I would take 4 or 5 watches.

Just one..

I don’t like leaving expensive things back in the room or the rental car or the room safe. So I bring one to wear the whole time and thats it.

I prefer to bring just one and have it as my constant companion for the trip.

I'm too indecisive for that, though, so I usually bring two!

I was just going to post the same thread…

I’m glad you did…my issue is whether a waterproof dive watch can be worn at a business / evening dinner. If I’m at an hotel and want to use the pool etc…that’s why I bought the GMT… Having said that I bought the BB as a dress watch… They both have dual ti...

It depends on the country

In general I just bring 2. One on my wrist and one in the carry-on bag. But I’d be fearful of bringing anything good into 3rd world countries where corrupted airport officials may try to confiscate things illegally.

Depends on the airline ...

And it has to be a pretty low value robust watch (preferably a diver) like my Longines Hydroquest or a Seiko Prospex. For more formal occasions I include as well my Nomos. But for sure nothing that grabs too much unwanted attention : no Rolex,Omega,Breitl...

Hi Chico,

My travel habits, move around a lot, stay in all sorts of rooms, usually with not much security going on, dictate I stick to one per trip. It has to be some sort of travel watch, a GMT, a dual time, a world timer. Fortunately, I have plenty of those to ch...

I bring one for safety reasons

I am not too comfortable leaving a watch in a hotel when I am out. In addtion, I would not want to be subjected to any import taxes if stopped by customs. Not many people might understand why more than one watch is required by a person especially on holid...

Holidays are usually relaxing, so one "sporty" watch able to take all in (sea, sand, snow, shocks).

I usually take my Breitling Aerospace for that reason (and a fitness watch to record cycling and swimming). If there is a more formal event in the middle of the vacation, then i'll take a dress watch with me, but it is always a little burden to take care ...

Mostly 4 a 5 watches .

My travels to unsafe destinations ended with retirement. And then I only traveled with quartz mainly to observe protocol when being a guest in locations with differing levels of development. These days I only visit locations where the norms are similar. U...
