Hi sportster
I recently purchased a Speedmaster Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon even though I had seen the horror story of one DSOTM watch where the lug snapped off ceramic is one of the hardest elements and can only be cut by diamond. Having said that it is brittle so can chip or shatter if you manage to hit it in just the wrong place and just the wrong force so before I bought mine I checked with my Home Insurance company here in the UK that I could add it not just for loss or theft but also for accidental damage. This also covers outside the home and travel abroad and most importantly for accidental damage so should the worst happen its covered all at a cost of £80 per year which I consider more then acceptable and leaves me worry free whilst wearing my watch.

In this case, a jeweller was asking for assistance in locating a source for replacement cases. We should not forget that there is certainly a difference between a watch for 550 Euros and 5,500, or even 11,000 Euros. On th other hand, 550 Euros is more tha...
