The obvious choose would be Omega , but god ! I would love to test the AP in real life “adventure “ ! It would be eider a bond or the chopping block ... [nt]

One vacation watch.

 By: fernando : June 24th, 2019-19:54
For my upcoming trip to SE Asia, I have decided to just bring one watch, which I will be wearing throughout my travels. One reason is to bond with it for about 3 weeks and another is to be worry free, when it comes to luggage and hotel safes. I have narro...

tough choice!

 By: LS : June 24th, 2019-20:04
Both are solid contenders. Perhaps the omega?

Thanks for your response.

 By: fernando : June 24th, 2019-20:21
Pros for the Omega would be the following: light and comfort on the wrist, less conspicuous and great lume.

IMHO AP but with black strap [nt]

 By: Gelato Monster : June 24th, 2019-20:18

That's an option and a good suggestion.

 By: fernando : June 24th, 2019-20:38
I should have it on the dark blue one that comes with it.

Technically, decisions are always made . . .

 By: Dr No : June 24th, 2019-20:49
. . . at the last minute.

Or even seconds ? [nt]

 By: Cpt Scarlet : June 25th, 2019-01:13

Precisely! . . .

 By: Dr No : June 25th, 2019-04:14
. . . it's just that some decisions take longer than others ;-) . . .

Tough call, Fernando...

 By: AlexSunrise : June 24th, 2019-20:53
But that Seamaster is just begging to be taken on an adventure Enjoy your travels, my friend! All the best, Alex

Do you need to worry about the date for this trip?

 By: reintitan : June 24th, 2019-20:56
If not, I like the no-date Seamaster.

No, I'm ok checking the phone. :)

 By: fernando : June 24th, 2019-21:00
The SM is looking to be the better choice as most of you have suggested. Thank you!

+1! :))) [nt]

 By: amanico : June 24th, 2019-23:20

Easy pick.. i vote for Omega

 By: Fjan : June 24th, 2019-22:09
that ceramic bezel on the omega can take a lot more beating. Wish you a pleasant trip to Asia and remember to keep hydrated at all time. 🥂 Jen

For practical purposes I agree with you Jen.

 By: fernando : June 24th, 2019-23:49
Thank you for the kind response!

That must be the Omega...

 By: Nicole_S : June 24th, 2019-22:20
She was made for this trip and will stay just as beautiful. Enjoy your time there! Nici

A tough choice indeed....

 By: FlyingSnoopy : June 24th, 2019-22:27
probably the omega as it would stand more against scratches.... But both would be a great companion

I had originally planned to take the AP ...

 By: fernando : June 24th, 2019-23:52
but since the Omega entered the equation, I'm in two minds.

Another vote for the Seamaster

By: COUNT DE MONET : June 24th, 2019-23:07
It will be also a better fitting choice for evening wear. Have a safe and nice trip.

I'm beginning to heed everyone's advice..

 By: fernando : June 24th, 2019-23:54
and move towards the Omega. Thanks Count!

I knew you would say that..

 By: fernando : June 25th, 2019-00:02
and the thought has entered my mind.

:))) [nt]

 By: fernando : June 25th, 2019-00:29

But the ceramic case could shattered if heavily strucked

 By: hoseachandra : June 25th, 2019-08:12
Which is likely happen on travelling

Two ergonomical issues

 By: Marcus Hanke : June 25th, 2019-00:47
First, the black luminova on the AP is practically useless in the dark. Here the Omega is miles ahead. Second, the rotating bezel/ring. I use it many times a day as a convenient chronograph alternative. Consequently, I hate fiddling around with a second c...

Valid points Marcus.

 By: fernando : June 25th, 2019-01:02
Agree the Omega's lume is just tops and lasts throughout the night whilst the AP's is no where to be seen. Regarding the bezel, for ease of use, the Omega wins. However, I find the crown of the helium valve to be of no practical use unless you are a satur...

Fully second your view of the Helium valve ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : June 25th, 2019-02:16
... however, it is some kind of tradition with Omega, meanwhile. So who are we to argue against a classic? Marcus

I assume...

 By: FlyingSnoopy : June 25th, 2019-07:48
because the AP has black luminova- the regular ro diver has decent luminova...

Actually...

 By: FlyingSnoopy : June 25th, 2019-07:50
I find that the omega bezel is a tad more difficult to use because the grips are wider...

Simple choice...

 By: Cpt Scarlet : June 25th, 2019-01:12
The Omega, as it’s more discrete.

Good! I'm glad this is settled!

 By: halgedahl : June 25th, 2019-05:06
Coming so late to the party I can only offer that I was immediately struck by the Omega. A diver, yet quite at home at the roulette table. (You were planning numerous evenings at the casino, were you not?) And I agree with fewer scratch worries; the pract...

I appreciate all the helpful comments & feedback...

 By: fernando : June 25th, 2019-06:11
including yours. I will certainly keep everyone updated with wrist shots, including places of interest (possibly one in a casino at a hand of baccarat?). Thank you FH for your kind reply!

Most definitely the Omega.

 By: Rhyzen : June 25th, 2019-06:41
The combination of scratch resistance, lume, and overall discreteness makes it an awesome choice.

I feel like a lone voice in the wilderness...

 By: cshimokita : June 25th, 2019-06:51
I would go with the Royal Oak Offshore... I think the time is easier to read with the white face, even with the phone a watch with date is nice to have when traveling. Watches are meant to be used, so unless I am chopping wood, clearing brush, cleaning ra...

I like your lone voice Casey.

Going against the tide sometimes pays off and in this case I haven't written off the ROO just yet but it's hard not to listen to the majority. As for the camera, I like to keep it simple and travel light - the Q. cheers fernando

Coz he's a white dial kinda guy, Fernando..

 By: Echi : June 25th, 2019-19:13
Don't listen to him ;-) Take the Omega.. matches well with the Leica or any camera for that matter :p Enjoy your trip! Best, Echi

LOL. I could go for the all black stealth look!

 By: fernando : June 25th, 2019-23:36
Thanks Echi. cheers fernando ...

Hahaha... good one Echi

 By: cshimokita : June 26th, 2019-00:36
and fernando... love the black stealth look ; ) Casey

Oooh nice :-) (nt)

 By: Echi : June 26th, 2019-01:51
..

Which watch (strap) is the best for summer heat and humidity?

 By: rdenney : June 25th, 2019-09:22
The Omega looks like alligator and the ROO looks like rubber (albeit white). SE Asia is hot and humid this time of year, right? It would be bracelet weather for me. Edit: Nevermind, a closer look reveals a rubber strap in the Omega, too. I would add that ...
