No date and it even looks smaller than IWC's other offerings

I think at 39mm it is smaller than the 40mm of the regular production "Mark XVIII" plus the all black case makes it look slimmer.

have impressed me lately. The Gronefeld Remontoire and now this IWC are top class and are in my opinion an improvement over the regular production watches.

and would love to have been able to afford the Gronefeld LE. It's an ultimate stealth watch hiding an horological powerhouse, a "wolf in sheep's clothing". I love that.

I love the discrete dial with arabic numerals of the Hodinkee version even though the propeller at 9 o'clock is hidden.

Hope IWC gets some inspiration from the Hodinkee version for future releases...

I echo that and hope IWC use Ceratanium on more watches. Currently it's used on only two watches: this one and the $15k Top Gun Doppel Chrono.
