Thanks, Nicolas. A year that was a very unusual one for me.

Dec 20, 2019,18:52 PM

Several of those acquisitions were undertaken due to the wonderful photos and thoughtful postings from you and other Purists, for which I am grateful.
But I don’t anticipate adding so many timepieces in one year again!

What have you collected or disposed this year?

As we close the year thought it be fun to see who has brought watches and out the collection. I had a few too many to start with but look forward to seeing what the community has done

It’s been a phenomenal 2019!

 By: Mach : December 15th, 2019-06:35
There were no ‘disposals’ from the collection. After a quiet first half of the year, it’s been rapid fire with one addition after another! Seiko Prospex Diver SPB051 (15 June): Rolex Submariner 114060 (22 June): Omega 1957 60th Anniversary Trilogy Seamast...

The Year of Churn

 By: Chromatic Fugue : December 15th, 2019-09:47
Great topic for a thread. I began the year with six watches and ended with six watches, but only two are the same. Before and after shots below; planning on a much quieter 2020! ...

Shhh!

 By: Chromatic Fugue : December 15th, 2019-09:51
I feel like I need a 12-step program at this point. One day at a time ...

Not a bad upgrade! 😃

 By: MTR : December 15th, 2019-10:47
Now a Patek PC, a second Lange (Chronograph) and a nice Reverso. Glad you kept your FP Journe. Why did you dispose some watches? To fund the others, or do you just want to keep your collection “small”? Best Thomas

I trade watches that I find myself not wearing anymore. Here are the things that bothered my about the four watches I sold: 1. The AP never really fit my wrist, despite heroic, years-long efforts to persuade myself otherwise (including an unsuccessful eff...

I have to go back 3 years since 2017....

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 15th, 2019-11:06

I never imagined 5 Langes in a year...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 15th, 2019-12:48
The last 2 came earlier than expected so have to take it, especially the Odysseus. The Saxonia was originally plan for next year but then with Odysseus coming in the holiday season, have to make my boss happy too Now we have 9 Langes, so happy.

Wow!

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 15th, 2019-12:31
Now you can show her you’re absolutely normal, lol..

You never know, I think now her acceptance level has gone up subconsciously...

You’ll be doing very well, congrats to a great 2020. I also feel I can sit back and relax a bit to enjoy these 3 years’ haul. Thanks Tony.

Glorious ...

... particularly love those Speedmasters. That “long f” ... I know what it is, but is it even a thing? I sometimes wonder why rare details that have no effect on a watch’s performance or appearance are ever inherently valuable.

If it’s advertised by auction house, it will be a Big thing...or a hype thing of being “rare” collectible...

 By: Clueless_Collector : December 15th, 2019-14:07
I’m a supporter of 4 brands and will keep it that way, not much “room” for AP, JLC or Indies.

Six vintage Omegas in, . . .

 By: Dr No : December 15th, 2019-17:23
. . . three out. Net gain: 3. One Seiko in. Net gain: 1. One GO out. Net loss: 1. Overall: still gaining. Next year? We'll see. But I've a feeling the ship is changing course. ...

Oh, the collection is already heavily weighted towards . . .

 By: Dr No : December 16th, 2019-15:15
. . . vintage Omega. Next year the tally will be one Seiko, one Grand Seiko, one Glashütte Original, and one Dornblüth. The rest will be Omegas - the modern Rail plus dozens of vintages. There may well be fewer, though . . . right now, I feel like the guy...

2019 is a huge consolation years...I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Busy but the collection is going in the wrong direction 😩

 By: reintitan : December 16th, 2019-02:21
My word for 2020 is curation 🤣

I just let one go, as every year ( one to three watches per year are leaving my collection ).

 By: amanico : December 16th, 2019-02:18
This one is out: Still working on the watch I will get this year, or next year... Best, Nicolas ...

A few have left the collection this year, but this one is the most notable.

 By: Jay (Eire) : December 16th, 2019-04:04
A watch that I loved a lot, and grew on me over time too. And while I could pull it off, it was always just a little too big I think. Ultimately it was one of the easier watches to let go as it will not be that difficult to replace if I ever wanted to do ...

It was actually a duplicate of a limited issue
