A new vintage pick-up....

 By: Darren : June 29th, 2015-20:27
Was not expecting to ever see one of these on my wrist, but every now and then....... My first vintage Breguet. Love the dial, but like what's inside at least as much (and probably more): An e-mail from Breguet calls this one simply the "1276". Apparently...

May I be the first . . .

was lucky to happen upon this one. I guess that's how it goes .... plenty on my radar which I'll never strap to the wrist (many of which you own!). Darren

Very nice!

Congratulations! Probably not the original crown, but that's small potatoes.

Thanks Tony....

You're likely correct about the crown, but to be honest, I'm not sure I'll be able to find a scan of one of these with the original crown. I may reach out to Breguet again, but I think I now have all of the information they have on this timepiece. Darren

you always have these AMAZING pieces!!!!

I'll try to take some better scans over the coming weeks, but my photography skills are not on the level of this timepiece unfortunately. Darren

Wonderful! Do you know the approximate

production date? Thanks!

In fact I do....

The watch was manufactured in 1952 and sold on December 31, 1953. A New Year's present it would appear. Thanks for the kind words. Darren

1276 is...

 By: SuitbertW : July 1st, 2015-09:43
Hi Darren, 1276 is a beauty - and would well deserve a extensive photo shooting and post! Congrats! It's an absolute drem piece for anybody interested in the history of horology. Not made during the best times of Breguet - but with this movement and humbl...

Thanks Suitbert.

I does indeed feel like a bit of history on the wrist (and it's plain cool to look at!) And I would agree that this one was created during somewhat darker days in the lifespan of Breguet. Somewhat of a light amongst a fair bit of darkness. I've learned qu...
