Does anyone know what the wait time for a Pascal Coyon piece is at present?

I’ve seen one in the metal recently, and really want one now. I haven’t seen any come up on second-hand market, so was wondering what the wait for a new piece from PC is. Any advice would be appreciated. PS if any1 is thinking of selling or trading their ...

Think of a long time...

...then double, it and add a year. (Actually: weren't all of the pieces in the series subscribed anyway?). In any event: this took a very long time to come, even by Indie standards. The anticipated delivery date was missed, then extended, time after time....

At least you have yours

I'm still waiting for mine. I hope it doesn't cross the 4 years mark. LOL Regard Tyler

4 years - wowza!

I don’t think I can wait that long for anything 👍🏻😀

Great to see a fellow Aussie with one of these babies!

I fear you are right and the entire run had been subscribed. I was hoping to hear any news about potential new pieces hitting the market but can’t find anything in the pipeline. HAGWE

Got one of them already 😀

Ha! Should have known; sorry...

The Dorn in the West sends greetings: Seems like there should be a beer in our future. Cheers, pplater. ...

Every time I say to myself, "The collection's complete now - time to . . .

. . . call it quits," someone has to post a Dorn. ;-)

Haha!

There is always room for “just one more!” 😀 Just one! 😀

Thanks for the tip!

T

I am already in line for the next series.

Pascal said it should be announced this autumn. He would not build me one from this series so I have to wait....a long time I imagine.

Cool!

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll try to get on that list!

I recall asking Derek Pratt to make me a watch - he said "I won't live long enough to make the orders I've already taken"

I appreciated the honesty, and sadly he was right. What happens to those deposits?? Having just received a $20.42 refund on a imploded Kickstarter project for which I put in about $250, I'm starting to think about such things... Mike

Always a danger.

I recently had a discussion with someone who put money down for a Volker Vyskocil watch that never eventuated. I think it was 50% of the RRP too -$1000’s! Crazy

“The Volker Deposit”...

...has entered horological mythology! Some still hold out hope, all these years on, but if ever there were a bullet dodged... It’s a great shame: the watch looked terrific in concept. Cheers, pplater.

In this case, I think it is legitimate

He won't make anymore because he hasn't fulfilled existing orders yet and says he won't release the new model until the old one is caught up. A swindle would keep raking in the money without thought of deliveries. He is clear that it will take time to get...

I alos ordered a watch a year or two ago and waited for progress reports which were long in coming and mostly referred to other people's watches progressing

Eventually we passed the delivery date by a few, then many months. Whern the watchmaker explained his circumstances and offered me a refund, I decided to reclaim all my money. In my case it was "a bullet dodged" as stated above by pplater.

I am not a gambling man, but I am going to take a chance in this case

I am in no hurry for the watch. As long as he offered a refund due to the time frame, I can live with that. If it gets crazy long time, I will have to put the Coyon watch on my "admire but don't buy" list!

Hopefully he is still diligently working through the backorders.

"A swindle would keep raking in the money without thought of deliveries." I don't agree with the quoted language as a complete response to my question. Yes, the quoted language is an example of a swindle, but it's not exhaustive. Are all funds available f...

To be clear, for the benefit of readers....

 By: pplater : July 23rd, 2018-16:33
The discussion in this thread has included two watchmakers. Coyon has delivered and is still delivering (if slowly): there is no swindle at all there, either at inception or now. Volker never delivered at all. Certainly, all of the signs were to the effec...
