So I am about to pull the trigger on a FB Chronometer. Would love to hear your thoughts on the brand and this model specifically, also as it related to value compared to say GF ...

That case in carburized steel was what got me interested in FB, it's strange they've gone away from that and have been mostly making PM cases in the subsequent Fb2 and FB3.
The FB3 in particular as a entry into the brand would have been great in steel....
This model has their most attractive movement, in my opinion.
A "stealth" dial relative to their other offerings, could be quite versatile.
I was able to see the white dial version of this watch a couple days ago.
Very impressed! To me on par with GF. If I had the funds I would definitely go for it! I could stare at that movement all day and watch the remontoir in action! ...

I was not sure about the size. I’ve gathers some time ago some information about FB, cause on a watch news site the brand was spoken. FB is somekind of a top range brand of Chopard, corect me if i am wrong. Pocket watches, a fuse chain model.
From photos, they look absolutely world class, but I have not held one in my hands.
They look too big for me personally, but I highly admire their work. Both them and GF and clearly, top, top, top shelf brands with few peers.

"Grand Chopard" is great on both horological and finishing.
Much less brand cache than GF, but not for any real reason. Buy because you love and the rest be damned.
Finishing on par with GF. For me the FB movements have much more beautiful design, they also tend to have exceptional chronometric performance.
The question is whether you like the somewhat conservative look. Otherwise a no brainer - I agree with others that those might be the finest watches made right now.
Not sure if you saw my post in your other thread about finishing but I would say FB is amazing but maybe still a fractional step shy of GF as far as finishing hours
Think it comes down to style, both are amazing, but small differences I think where GF puts more time in such as the wheel spokes which have sharp inner angles vs curved transitions on the FB wheels or more use of black polish on GF parts vs graining or f...
