So many favorites I don't even know what to mention!

Okay, here's one: the first one, the Octa Chronograph. Am I right that it's 40mm? I usually see them at 38mm (which is not to say I see them often!).

Chronographs

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:00
To avoid repetition, I am omitting the Perpetual Calendar Chronographs that I have already posted in another thread. Still, I found this to be the largest contingent in my portfolio FPJ Octa Chrono Audemars Piguet Offshore Queens Road Patek 5170G Vacheron...

Yesssss

 By: Jurry : April 5th, 2020-07:07
The VC CdV is a beauty. The VC Harmony is just very special. We don’t see them enough. I own the calendar version which isn’t near yours The VC Overseas is a very versatile everyday watch. I noticed you’ve got the previous model. I’ve got the latest model...

Very observant

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:15
Sounds like you are a VC fan

I am

 By: Jurry : April 6th, 2020-01:58
Indeed I am a great VC lover. We own quit a few and the brand just sings to me

They all sing to me.

 By: jlux : April 5th, 2020-07:08
I am a huge fan of chronographs and your collection is the best that I have ever seen!!!

Thank you for your compliment

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:17
Although in practice, we rarely use the function, let alone the split seconds...

Blows my mind!!

 By: mrds : April 5th, 2020-07:22
What a collection.... have any one of them on your wrist you are one lucky guy, owning them all is almost beyond imagination. Huge congrats, Sam. Being a VC kind of guy, I love the CDV and the Harmony. Besides, my vote goes to the 5960 (this one just keep...

Thanks.

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:31
If you fancy the 5960, now is the time to pull the trigger as the price has come down by 40% from the peak. The Octa chrono, on the other hand, was recently auctioned at an incredibly high hammer price...though certainly not bad news to me

Oh my

I would pick in no order The FPJ Octa FPJ Centigraphe The PP 5370 and 5905 And the Lang and hayne monopusher The datograph Dream collection my friend

Interesting order

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:35
Though you probably know that the 5370P is 3/4 times as expensive as the FPJ, and the Dato Lumen is almost double the price of the Centigraphe... Still, you must have picked the order for good reasons

In no order I put them

By: Mohannad (aka Riddler) : April 5th, 2020-08:36
But if I’m pressed to pick two The 5370 and the datograph lume

I see

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:15
That makes more sense

So many favorites I don't even know what to mention!

Yes, 40 mm [nt]

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:46

The very first watch I ever bought, that was not time-only, was a Maurice Lacroix rattrapante

 By: NickO : April 5th, 2020-07:47
So I’ve had a soft spot for that complication ever since. No surprise then that I’m most drawn most to your Patek 5370, and second the Lang & Heyne, from your outstanding collection. What’s up next, Minute Repeaters? Can’t wait to see what you have th...

LOL

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:54
I hurt my ear while diving so I don't have any minute repeater wrist watches, though my next target might be a 5178R... Interesting that you also picked the Lang & Heyne. It is also one of my favourites - PT case, enamel dial, Roman numerals, heavy weight...

Your photos are really nice to look at!

I am partial to anything Journe.

I was supposed to attend a Journe function

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:56
Last month in Geneva but unfortunately had to cancel due to the pandemic. I am eager to find out what the new Resonance will look like...

I too was supposed to attend the FPJ function.

 By: M-Scott : April 5th, 2020-11:04
I am also anxious to see the new Resonance. I was looking forward to touring the FPJ workshop as well.

Two stand out for me

Vacheron Constantin CdV and Blancpain Air Command. What lovely pieces... Regards, George

I am surprised quite a number of people

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-07:58
Picked the cdv... As for the Air Command, it was my latest addition and I had made a post about it earlier.

Thanks for the reminder

 By: George Gently : April 6th, 2020-01:54
I've read that post and enjoyed it very much!

I think among all those beauties, I’ll go for the Vacheron Constantin Cornes de Vache

 By: Tyo : April 5th, 2020-08:15
Bravo again. What’s your routine? One watch per day? Or for a longer period? How did you get into watches? It’s alway interested to have a vision of a big collector for me.

Yes, one watch per day

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-08:21
I have around 100 watches so once every three months or so I started with vintage watches about 25 years ago and....needless to say, this hobby becomes very addictive....there is always a next target...

Aside the fact you have a clearly a great taste and sense for aesthetics..

 By: Ivan5 : April 5th, 2020-08:37
...and there's no "weakling" among your chronographs, I'm surprised no one singled out 5070P as a favorite one. My knees weaken when I see one.. Congrats, Sam, on a phenomenal collection and thanks for reminding us there's nothing wrong with one going aft...

Thank you

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:17
Yes, the 5070P has a special space in my heart. It turned out to be a terrific investment too

I consider myself a pretty decent Patek-hater, but that 5905P struck a cord.

 By: Lankysudanese : April 5th, 2020-08:46
P.S: there’s not enough days in the year for you to rotate all your watches. Feel free to throw a couple my way 😉

LOL, thanks

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:20
A couple of my friends queried why I buy the 5905 in addition to the 5960. I recently applied a beige strap to the 5905 and it makes a huge difference...

Another set of a thematic collection !

 By: Seeks : April 5th, 2020-09:13
I love your series my friend, keep them coming please! Stay safe and be well!

I will, I will....

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:21
What is better to do during this lock down

I agree with the 5370

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:23
but must admit the Centigraphe is not an easy piece to wear, fashion-wise...

wow Samwan.....

 By: mahesh : April 5th, 2020-09:32
albeit i'm no big fan of Chronographs...i fell head over heal with your impressive collection.... my love goes to... FPJ Octa chrono Lang & Hayne monopusher PP monopusher & the game changer.....Dato ! thanks for sharing this wonderful collection. Best, ma...

Looks like we have similar tastes

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:24
Each of them has a story of its own, though I won't bore you with the details...

Impressive collection you have!

 By: jp884 : April 5th, 2020-09:39
Encompassing all areas of horology, must be difficult deciding which watch to wear? Thanks for sharing.

FPJ Octa Chronograph and JLC platinum Amvox . . .

 By: M4 : April 5th, 2020-09:44
. . . really stand out to me in your exceptional lineup of chronographs. M4

Interesting choices

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:34
since they are not the most valuable...but I concur

Beyond impressive.

 By: TheMadDruid : April 5th, 2020-10:14
But you know that. It’s the best collection of chronographs I’ve ever seen. Of them all the LE Centigraphe is the one I’d probably wear the most.

Thank you for saying that

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:35
I must admit that I have only worn the Centigraphe only once since the acquisition :P

I'm sure it's hard to choose among all of them.

 By: TheMadDruid : April 6th, 2020-07:20
And you have many other watches as well.

LOL, not too difficult

 By: samwan : April 6th, 2020-08:20
depending on the occasion

Congratulations! A truly gorgeous piece

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:25
one day....one day....

A absolute stunning collection.

 By: Watchonthewrists : April 5th, 2020-11:29
Thanks for sharing. Gorgeous L

Astonishing collection

 By: TeutonicCarFan : April 5th, 2020-11:48
I am drawn to both VC... any shot of the harmony movement (is this launch edition with engraved balance cock)? Also any comparison between the cdv and harmony for movement (I had read people don't like the harmony mono pusher feel), and which you prefer? ...

Excellent points

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:29
I must confess that I wear the cdv slightly more often than the Harmony, simply because the latter is a bit 'loud' - like a chunk of gold sitting on the wrist. Yes, it was the limited edition initially launched.

My pleasure... [nt]

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-18:03

The Amvox and the PP 5070 for me, please.

 By: andyhud : April 5th, 2020-12:15
What a visual feast! Just an amazing collection, thanks for sharing so much of it with us all.

I had the 5070P for a long time

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:30
The Amvox I got through an auction - at a price you won't believe, practically a steal

Thank you Nico

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:31
I know you have always liked the 192, from your old posts..

;) [nt]

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:40

Amazing collection of my favorite complication.

 By: vitalsigns : April 5th, 2020-14:00
What are you hunting for next?

Not a chrono

 By: samwan : April 5th, 2020-16:32
but the Patek Worldtime with cloisonne enamel dial (5231J), if I can lay my hands on it...

Thanks! [nt]
