Seoul - forget it

I used to live in Seoul for business and still travel there frequently. There really isn't much of a used watch market in Korea. Some Koreans told me there is a superstition against having another person's used personal item constantly touching your skin. My wife, who was born in Seoul, thinks that is bunk and that Koreans just prefer "new and shiny" to show off to their neighbors. Whatever the truth, Rogi's post about the Myongdong is correct - there are (or were) a few vintage shops/watch repair places off the main streets but I've never seen anything worth buying.

I had no luck in Seoul except for our duty free at the Lotte, lots of goodies there but you need to know the prices. The only other place I ventured was one block away from Myeongdeung
