Portrait of the Kurono Chronograph 1
Oct 31, 2020,09:16 AM
Dear All,
Here are some new shots of my Kurono Chronograph 1.
Overall I'm very happy with the watch. The design by Hajime Asaoka works really well, it feels / wears like a vintage watch from the 60' while at the same time being uniquely "Asaoka" (shape and thickness of the lugs, unusual "arrow" hands, etc...).
There clearly is a lot of attention to details (polished studs on the dial, curved hands, box sapphire, etc...)
Even the date - my biggest initial concern - is very well done and brings symmetry with the index at 12. The date disc is "metallic" grey and nicely framed. The chrono sub-dials are nicely recessed and bring a lot of depht to the dial.
The original strap is ok but not great, i replaced it with a Hermes strap... a bit expensive but super supple and perfect with the watch
My only "complaint" is that the centre of the dial is printed rather than embossed but it's not a big deal.
I'm super glad i chose the white dial, it's creamy and luminous, perfect to brighten dark autumn days!
Enjoy your WE
Seb
