That was a great collection. Feel for the collector, he must just feel awful given the circumstances.
Given the rarity of some of these pieces, they cannot be easily serviced by a third party. So hopefully they will gradually resurface and eventually lead to an arrest and a return of the entire collection. (Unless there is a brilliant and resourceful watchmaker who serves as the master watchmaker of the organized crime underworld.)
Hoping for the best. The stolen watch database should really be a non-profit entity, cooperative, otherwise there will be private buyers who won't pay to search if their prospective purchases are stolen.
