I must be too bored with the covid19 lockdown I start going into the kitchen n playing with all the stuff n I bump into the digital scale.. So I pop my 36mm AP RO (14790) onto the scale with the full links (with spare links) compare to my DD40 (228239) wi...

Should be a surprise, Tantalum is a fairly hefty material compared to steel.

Thatā€™s really where Audemars should be exploring again, instead of varying the hues of their dials, and regurgitating past masters without fully thinking through the concept!

Baron I cannot have agreed more!

AP was really innovative with their materials seems they have slow down the pass couple of years. Hope they will pick things up soon. Especially during this down time, they will have more time to reflect on their roots and maybe some good innovative piece...

An AP offshore 42mm in full platinum weighs an eye-watering 432 grams! Itā€™s the only member of the 400 gram club that I can think of, I would love to see if there are any others..... [watch not mine and photo credit: ] ...

My 218206 with the plastic coffin donā€™t even come close! The AP ROO PT is truly a class of its own! I tried that piece on and I can assure it is seriously a very special piece. I wanted to added that piece to my collection but that dial colour doesnā€™t sin...

I tried one on, too, in the AP Las Vegas boutique

Itā€™s weight is significant! It was funny, I was wearing a lot of big rose gold bracelet watches in the 340-360 gram range at the time, and I could definitely tell the difference! I could only imagine how it would feel to someone who routinely wears watche...

Yes, I too own the original 2004 e series (25721BA.OO.1000BA.02) ā€œthe brickā€ (in the safe somewhere) and thatā€™s the heaviest watch I own..

The PT ROO is totally another level! I found this photo online.. credit to the original owner I believe this first generations are heavier than the newer versions. Same as ā€œthe brickā€ .. I read the current version is lighter than the original. ...

People, we have a winner!

The half-kilo barrier is broken! Thatā€™s insanely heavy. A quick count of the links suggests the watch in your photo had 18 links and the watch in mine had 16. That will explain some, but I think not all, of the weight difference. So, yes, I think the olde...

Haha you are right..
