Nice topic!

For me the complications PR (for manual AND automatic movements), GMT and PC.
Plus the features (no „complications“ - I know): magnetic field protection, WR and night readability.

We see every complication imaginable

on this forum, from simple date function right up to the most complicated perpetual calendar and astrological features. Of all the complications available today which do you find the most useful for your own personal use? I find the GMT feature to be the ...

It is between the alarm and the GMT / Travel / World time for me.

This one has all: ...

I have to admit it's the date...

even though I generally eschew watches with dates. So much for usefulness!

For me personally

it would be the GMT function and also the power reserve function on a manual winding watch. The world timer is always a feast for the eyes especially one with an enamel dial but does one really need to know the time zones of more than two cities? The chron...

I agree with everything in your post, another complication I'm not

sure anyone needs is the leap year indicator.

I think with complications

it is not so much with what people need rather than what the watchmaker/company are able to do. Some of the Jacob and Co watches showing off the planets and moon are amazing to look at, not very wearable but still very clever and creative. I have confined...

In descending order

1. Date 2. GMT 3. Chronograph 4. Perpetual calendar 5. Moonphase 6. Equation of time...😁

Nuance

Good question yet I must answer with some nuance in it. For daily use I find the dual time zone the most practical useful complication there is. Being able to see at a glance what time it is in Europe where our son lives, or in New York where client is ba...

In descending order for me

(1) 12-hour chronograph (2) Date (3) Power reserve indicator (4) Day-night (5) Day (6) Month Hence my enthusiasm for 5960, though 5980, ROC, ROO, or Daytona will do in a pinch or for variety. Park

Most to least useful

For me the date is essential...

next would be day-of-the-week followed by moon phase. I live in a rather large city and even with all the wonderful parks and river paths there is a disconnect with the planets and constellations. The position of the moon gives me a touch into that aspect...

Interesting topic! Most useful for me is a GMT hand but the complication I enjoy most is a chronograph

 By: Fastwong : February 6th, 2020-21:44
Its funny but I use to think chronos were silly. How often do we ever need to time things with to the second accuracy? Throw on a chrono though with some fun animation like a flying foudroyante, digital counter, or crazy beat rate and it adds a ton of int...

It's a toss up

between the chronograph and the GMT,the former being useful for exercise cycles, the latter fairly functional for me. The moon phase is there for the aesthetics
