that the Hermes and Trilobe won as they are on my hit list

I've yet to meet the Hermes, there's some unusual difficulty in setting the mechanism I'm told. And a previous Hermes watch, the double moon phase one, was also super counterintuitive to set. The Trilobe is a watch I've met and I've interviewed the founde... 

As you know I love simple watches so perhaps the Hermes is better to look at than to use. A 38.5mm Trilobe is crying out to me

That Trilobe is a very cool watch. Definitely like the watch, design, et. al. I even like the founder, whom I interviewed a year ago in November 2021. Swell guy.

Do you know exactly how some of these work? The MB&F Chronograph with its inverter set up is truly unique, a significant invention, and has a practical use case scenario. The Bird Automaton clock and the Miki Eleta Clock didn't catch your eye?

To start, 80% of the bards don't even participate. That's already a reason why it's totally meaningless Then, you have to pay to enter the competition And concerning the winners... Well we always have the same brands that will get a price, no matter what ... 

While we can debate their pay-for-play scheme, it is a fact for various industry 'Awards'. With the EISA, as i understand it, you pay to enter, and if you 'win', you also have to pay once again to license the use of their logo.

The GPHG isn't really making money. There isn't anyone getting a tremendous salary. And the amount paid by the nominees is pretty small. About CHF SFR 500 per entrant. Which doesn't even cover the cost to put on the event. Not to mention the admin costs a... 

It helps the GPHG to offset the basic costs and am 100% cool with that. i'm a fan of their Awards, though do also understand the pros and cons of this method of Award organization. Perhaps at some point, another entity will bring forth a more comprehensiv...  

I haven't been enjoying my "Turtle" very much. Need to go dig it out and start enjoying it more!

As for the rest, nothing particularly interesting. The Tag Heur Monaco Gulf and Tudor pelagos FXD...what is so special about them, i don't understand .

The other clock, the Miki Eleta clock is also breathtaking.

Sure we can debate a few things, yet overall imho they got it right. These award ceremonies are a way for an industry to thank themselves for their incredible efforts.
