My wife has the disease big time…
Sep 23, 2021,02:54 AM
So much so that she forwards me watches she likes on IG on a daily basis. It all started when I convinced her to wear my PANERAI, then later my Rolex. She then went on to buy a Peter Speake Marin for herself as her very first watch and this year she picked up the Breguet. When I get a little tired of my own watches I can now go buy a wife sized and colored strap and get to enjoy it on her as well such as my Grand Seiko. It’s great having her on board with my obsession and gets excited about whatever it I might have lined up next. Lucky me!

Sharing timepieces with our significant others (SO)
By: Lankysudanese : September 22nd, 2021-06:32
I wanted to poll the purists, to see how many share the passion (and their timepieces) with my significant others. My wife thinks that watch collecting is a sign of extreme vanity, and doesn’t like many of my watches. So when she commented on was on my wr...

Very cool! He’s got good taste like the old man!

On another note, I love that strap on that watch. If you’re looking for another, one of my fave strap makers based in Ukraine can make a killer black shark with orange stitching. The texture of shark skin would look good with the texture of that dial. He ...

This strap is actually very cheap and plastic-y (including the sound it makes). It came free in a buy 2 get 1 free deal. But I run a tight ship, no straps to waste.
Great post

My dear sister was not a WIS. But due to my great love for her, I give her a timepiece every other year as a present. I can see her eyes sparkle when she sees me wear certain pieces. I parted with a Longines Legend Diver, A Hamilton Field watch in DLC, an...

Scrawny hands is the gift
By: Cookies : September 22nd, 2021-07:15
Too bulky hands, one can only use for ortho specialties. Your hands were blessed to plunge into chests, and do micro-level repairs on the hairspring of humans.
🤣🤣🤣

I’m just a glorified plumber
What a princessly timepiece (sorry for the pun).

And I guess I should take heed in the struggles on the other side of the spectrum (when your entire family is into watches, to the point that you can’t even buy something new for yourself) The grass is always greener on the other side 😁
Nice one!

I should confess that I love "small-wrist" watches (to say it PC!). I'll keep you guys informed about the evolution of my family collection.
When it pours it floods

When it is dry, some days feel like a desert. My life has been filled with terrible ups and terrible downs. For 5 years, I could not even think about watches or even a $5k motorbike which I desperately needed for work. But those days are far behind now, I...

Because you mentioned you cannot get anything new for yourself in the next few years, I told you a story about my 5 years of not being able to get watches for myself, let alone a motorbike I needed to commuting to work. And also, a snippet of how hard tim...

I always enjoy your company here on the forums. Have a great week. Admire your love for your children. That is the highest order. I wish I had a mom like that. I never had a mom-character in my life sadly. She was like Cher in Mamma Mia 2, always not avai...

By the way, I’m a Toyota fan too. I have an Avalon. Best car for my money, although my wife thinks it’s an old man’s car. Turning 50 next year, so maybe I fit it then! Speaking of wives; she tolerates my watches but doesn’t care to understand it. Got her ...

She has great taste

Great taste in choosing a great husband, and also in picking a PSM (of all the choices available, why a PSM. It speaks volumes of the thought process and complexity). I happened to be searching for posts of PSM today (cuz one is incoming) and saw your pos...
That’s terrific, Justin.

Based on your kick-ass collection, I wouldn’t want to play you in golf or poker (unless watches are your main passion). JD are definitely up there in terms of their artistic pieces. What about Van cleef & arpels?
An obsession

For me it is a medicine against sleeplessness. Bovet Hublot Rolex. This was to heavy, because it is an expensive trio. Lucky i am, i have a discovered a new less expensive way. I imagine a Swiss lever escapement, and the sandman comes. Sometimes i imagine...
