My opinion is biased

As I own the first version of the tradition. White gold, 37mm. Manual.

I’ve seen the tradition referred to as a skeleton watch many times online however I disagree with that description.
A skeleton watch most often has empty spaces that allow you to see through the dial to what’s underneath.

The tradition doesn’t.

From what I understand, the traditions movement is based on a pocket watch , and the movement is
visible from the front on the wristwatch .

The AS is indeed a skeleton watch which is extremely modern in its execution.
While the Breguet is essentially a pocket watch for the wrist, a Breguet for the modern times.

To me the Breguet is a romantic nod to the past , while the AS is quite the opposite .

I prefer the heritage of the Breguet and the poetic nature of wearing a pocket watch on the wrist.

Good luck with your choice

Breguet Tradition or Arnold & Son Nebula skeleton watches?

37mm Breguet Tradition 7027 in white gold or 38mm Arnold Son Nebula in steel? Please help me choose. Arnold Son Nebula steel 38mm steel Breguet Tradition 7027 37mm white gold ...

Both are nice, but I prefer the AS.

I personally always prefer watch that use the whole dial for time reading instead of a smaller tiny portion. Also think the open work on this AS richer in details compared to the breguet.

Breguet without a doubt!

The 7027 is the closest to the original watch made by Abraham Louis, it's not only a manufacture movement it's a "1 watch only" movement. The AS is not bad looking but it's just a design exercise, nothing close the Breguet legacy

I would choose the Breguet on a long term perspective

The name, the quality of the watch are strong assets. The Nebula is a very appealing piece but I have question marks about its reliability. Fx

Breguet

Iconic, precious metal, will never be mistaken for anything else.

For me the Breguet.

It is such an iconic piece!

Breguet my friend [nt]

Arnold & Son's movements come from the very renowned manufacture La Joux-Perret in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

Both the watch brand and the movement maker are part of Citizen Group. To me as an owner of a Nebula this is an assuring fact as I can count on Arnold & Son being around for many years and able to service my watch.

Not difficult

I will chose the AS. Thank you for posting, i almost run to an AD to fit it on my wrist. Oh, i like that Nebula a lot! The Breguet, ok.

I agree with this sentiment

Hi, I completely agree with this sentiment. The Tradition 7027 is about a romance with the past. The Nebula is a fantasy about the future. I am biased towards the 7027 though as I have the yellow gold version. I like the Nebula- a modern skeleton watch. F...

Breguet without question

It is objectively a superior piece of horology considering its free-sprung balance and overcoil hairspring. The latter will give you additional entertainment looking at the dial as well. Brandon

In early 2019 I was also deciding between the two.

 By: LX (Alex) : May 3rd, 2020-08:44
I tried both at the respective boutiques in Kuwait and decided against the Breguet. The Nebula is the more interesting watch and has slightly better movement finishing. Its case finishing is also above the Breguet. I had my doubts about the long-term viab...

same choice?

 By: wellingtoncromwell : May 3rd, 2020-09:03
wow, you were also deciding between exactly these two? I have tried on the Breguet but not the A&S which will require a trip to Singapore after the covid lockdown is lifted. Your experience with the Nebula is good in the year that youve owned it? Is there...

Yes, my experience with the watch is good.

 By: LX (Alex) : May 3rd, 2020-09:07
The only thing I wish was different is that in terms of movement finishing it would have been nice to have sharp interior angles here and there. But even Patek doesn't do sharp interior angles at the higher price points so Arnold & Son can be forgiven. Ob...

great photography

Thank you! your photos of the Breguet tradition are wonderful. this new one really shows the three dimensional aspect of the watch, it looks like a cityscape

Hmm, Breguet, I think, in this case, though

I’m actually a fan of Arnold & Son. Interesting, in that both are modern companies that have appropriated historic brand names and lean heavily on those histories in their marketing. I happen to own both the Time Pyramid (which appeals to me more than...

Maybe it isn’t a fair comparison?

Let’s try this Breguet I just received...JIm ...

In this case the Breguet for me.

It‘s an icon and - for me - has a very romantic look. Best Thomas
